WHERE IS IT? Lundy island is situated in the Bristol Channel, about 10 miles off the coast of North Devon. The island is 3 miles long and 1/2 a mile wide and has only about 15 residents, but has a rich history and offers a completely different holiday experience. I've been here 4 times, for both day trips and to stay on the island. I live in North Devon, and can even see Lundy from my bedroom window, so the island is especially magical for me. ...

...for rent, all over England, Scotland, Wales and the Channel Islands. There are even 23 Landmarks on the island of Lundy, 4 in Italy and 2 in the USA all waiting to be rented. To say the properties are a unique experience is probably an understatement. You can stay in cottages, gatehouses, castles, a converted water tower, a fort, a pigsty, a gothic temple or, if the mood takes you, The House of Correction! That is an old prison in Lincolnshire, in case you were wondering. My first experience of a Landmark Trust property was Swarkestone Pavilion in Derbyshire. Dating back to about 1632, it was one of the most extraordinary places I have ever stayed.
