The first year we decided to go on holiday in 2002 we wanted to go to Ibiza, and we went into Lunn Poly and see what would come up on their system, one of the hotels we liked was on offer in a special offers newsletter that the company prints. So, we were able to save money on this choice of accommodation and package. The staff are very friendly and when we went to book our second holiday we wanted to go back to Ibiza and used Lunn Poly again, the offer wasn't available this year, but the staff gave us some tips on how to get the price down! Last year we wanted to go to Majorca and used this same travel agent again! This year we are hoping to go to Cyprus and we are hoping that Lunn Poly will be able to give us a good deal once again.
Lunn Poly shops can be found throughout the country, and I believe that they are now part of the World of Thomsons company. The shops are very recognisable. With the use of the Lunn Poly web site you can get an idea of how much a holiday is going to cost you before going in and finding a price. The web site brings up a lot of what is on the computer system found in the ships, but cancellations etc are quickly found out by talking to a rep in one of the shops. The web site is also a great source to find out about destinations, holiday types and accommodation details, even better than looking at a brochure, plus being on the internet you can research further with other web sites.
The main reason we use Lunn Poly is because of the chance to spread the payments over the months, so we don't have to find a lot of money at one time. It is interest free and we can pay in however much or however little we want. Booking through this travel agent is a lot more expensive then booking online, but it helps us a lot by spreading the payments. When booking holidays online the money saved can be amazing, and I am hoping to do a late deal this way, the Lunn Poly web site has the facility to search for late deals and the prices are good (other online holiday sites can be cheaper). Booking through this travel agent helps put your mind at rest, you can ask your questions and have them answered, plus you know what is part of your package holiday and you know that everything is in place.
Each of the holidays we have taken has been with Thomson's and every aspect of the holiday is covered in the brochure and the ratings of other visitors of the hotel and location has been very accurate. Another good thing about speaking to the representatives in the shops is that you usually find that they have visited the places themselves and can give their opinion on it too. Our local branch usually has a minimum of two employees working, and they are all friendly and very helpful.
Lunn Poly hasn't let us down yet, and as you can see, we are going to use them again because we are very satisfied with all the service.

Every May I dream about going on one of those cheapo bargain breaks. You know the one I mean £99 for a week some where nice and hot. Well this year I decided sod the bank manager I'm going!!!
My mission there for was to find a cheap and I mean cheap holiday for my daughter and I. My first port of call was to try the online travel agents. Well after about an hour I was really no further on. Some sites where good others were down right awful and to ... ...Next stop was to flick throw teletext to find a few free phone numbers. I was particularly tempted by a couple of Greek holidays so armed with a pen and paper and my bit of plastic I rang a couple of companies. One offered to ring me back and never did. Another company really did try their best to accomadate, my requests of half decent flight times, ie not at the dead of night. But this would have meant departing from Manchster and returning to Gatwick!! ...

I should have been in Las Vegas today, pushing the balance on my flexible friend hard, however, due to events on 11th September and my already neurotic fear of flying, my present of a fleeting visit to San Fransisco and Vegas to visit some old school friends, for my partner to celebrate his initial successful treatment of skin cancer is once again a distant dream, but my yearning for a holiday SOON becomes for me something like an obsession, one ... ...before Christmas has set me off again, so its off on the trail of the Holiday Brochures again (when I should be studying) and checking out what I can afford.
Now when it comes to tour operators, I am loyal, preferring an arm of the Thomson brand above all others, when it comes to the Travel Agent I will go with whoever offers me the best deal, although these days prices generally tend to differ little, but the add-ons such as free insurance, free ...

Lunnpoly offers holidays with the majority of tour operators.You are able to book online or at the shop in the highstreet .It is important to stress that these are not linked,and only where you booked the holiday will have access to the details.

After two months of campaigning on a neighbour's behalf, I feel justified in lambasting Lunn Poly. My neighbour had hoped to have her first holiday away with her daughter for over three years and had booked a holiday with LP. At the time of booking she paid a deposit of £20 and received confirmation of the booking by post a week later. However, subsequent to this shereceived two phone calls at work from a gentleman unknown to her, who had copies ... ...numbers and holiday dates. Further to this he then sent her the confirmation papers along with a letter. As you will appreciate she was disturbed to find that all her details had been sent to a third party.
She contacted the travel representative dealing with her booking at the Lunn Poly branch and indicated that she was highly reluctant to proceed with the holiday in these circumstances. The representative stated that she would have to pay a cancellation ...

Advantages: Cheap holidays, but are they really Disadvantages: this insurance lark is getting out of hand
Iam slightly disappointed with Lunn Poly.In october last year I booked a holiday for me and my husband to Tenerife. We are travelling there this March.
The staff there were really friendly and one of the staff found me a good offer.
it was for the Ocean Palace apartments Las Americas. This is a four star complex which is new and situated on the outskirts of Las Americas.
The rooms are an all suite, just a posh word for a studio apartment.
The ... ...us, that included the cost of the rooms and the flights, holiday insurance and transport to the airport.
I queried the free insurance and free transport as they generally only give one free not both.
yes she said insurance and transport is free. well i went back to work high as a kite, i don't normally get such a bargain.

Bookings can be made on-line, and Portland Direct offer a £5 low deposit if you take out their insurance (last month they were providing free insurance for adults AND the low deposit).
I recently booked with Portland Direct, but over the telephone as I didn't feel the internet could answer all my queries, the service was prompt, efficient and helpful.

Advantages: Friendly and excellent value for money Disadvantages: None that I experienced
with Mum and she reckoned at that price we should go for it - we did. Prior to booking I used the hotel search facility from Lunn Poly's website (lunnpoly.co.uk I think) to check out the hotel and it looked quite nice. As go-now does not have on line booking as yet, I had to ring up on the Monday morning, was I too late? Not at all. Booking was quick and easy and the only extra cost on top of the £169 was travel insurance, which is to be expected. This was not forced upon us by go-now; in fact I asked them first! Anyway, enough of go-now.
The very next day we were at the airport, it was a local departure too, very convenient. I should mention that there was one slight drawback with the booking, probably due to it being so last minute - we did not return to the same airport, but another local one. I must point out that this was not a mistake ...
