I have booked a holiday via Lunnpoly with JMC. I booked this holiday before I had the opportunity to read your comments .But what is done is done or is it???
Lunnpoly offers holidays with the majority of tour operators.You are able to book online or at the shop in the highstreet .It is important to stress that these are not linked,and only where you booked the holiday will have access to the details.
My holiday is to take place in April .I will be traveling with my parents (which could be an experience ...as I haven’t done this in many years!) and my hubby and son. We are going to Turkey and will be staying at a supposedly 5 starhotel.
I spent some time looking for info on the hotel and discovered a host of facilities not listed in the brochure. When paying the final balance I took the time (1hr45) to confirm the details of the holiday .I watched the young girl get one guidebook after another out of the cupboard in the hope of proving the information regarding facilities such as a Jacuzzi’s in certain suites (I had booked suites) I was assured by the representative that I was wrong. I suggested that she contact JMC who in turn advised that I was wrong. JMC finally relented and called the hotel……And guess what ?
The hotel does offer such facilities yet not to JMC.I was advised that if I wanted to upgrade my room then I need to do this via another operator or I could contact the hotel directly. It was important that everything be perfect as I am about to explain. Anyway, as I handed over the balance I felt disillusioned as to what I was paying Lunnpoly for until that evening…
My father, had recently been assaulted by a group of youths,(he and my mother have endured constant threats and it was essential that I got everything right for the holiday) the case was postponed as the defense felt that they needed longer to prepare. That afternoon my father had been called and was advised that since he was a key witness that he would have to attend, the new case date was set and when my father expressed that this date conflicted with a holiday booked a year ago he was advised that he would need to change the dates of his holiday.(any money lost for my fathers ticket would be refunded, as with the Lunnpoly insurance,because this was only happening to my father if I was to cancel the holiday we would loose eveything other than my father's cost)
I contacted Lunnpoly and I cannot stress that the lady that I had the privilege to talk to could not do enough. She contacted JMC, found my father possible alternative flights, regretfully they would not be able to bring the entire party home, she searched for over an hour for alternative dates for the holiday unfortunately to no avail.This rep even called me back to save on my bill! I have to say that give Lunnpoly a crisis and they will at least try and find the solution in this instance.
I think as in all cases of customer service I believe that it depends of the representative that you talk to..But Lunnpoly should hold onto the gem that I found.

We had a crisis with Lunn Poly last year and they were fantastic - they obviously provide good training for their staff.

Further to the comment from petersmyth1 - Lunn Poly has nothing to do with Airtours. Lunn Poly is wholly owned by the Thomson group (who are in turn owned by German group Preussag).

Considering Lunnpoly is Airtours owned you did meet a Gem but sceptical as I am if you'd ended up with with another sales person would it have been the same. I'm very happy it worked out for you. Cheers, ....Peter
