My mother, who is in her 91st year and recovering from a fractured hip, and I recently travelled from Luton Airport on one of Easyjet's early morning flights to Malaga. In view of her condition I found it very helpful that the disabled parking area in the set down / pick up car park was right next door to the terminal, so that I was able to unload mother and baggage before going on to park in the long term car park.
Here my problems started, I had booked and paid for the car park months before we travelled, and in view of my mothers age (she had not yet at that time fractured her hip) I asked for parking in the on-airport car park and paid for same. However when I arrived at the car park in question I was informed that whilst the amount I had been charged was appropriate for that particular car park I had in fact been booked in the car park 5 miles away. At 4 a.m. ther was nothing I could do to correct the situation, except to take up the offer of the car park's receptionist and park there under a new contract which would mean that I would have to pay all over again on my return, and would lose the benefit of the prebooking discount. He further suggested that I phone the company from Spain and complain and ask that the monies they had received from me be transferred to the correct car park. When we got back I found out after considerable hassle that they had in fact acceded to my telephone request, but that the paperwork had not been done correctly so it took around 20 minutes before this was found out.
When I went to recover my car in the car park, I found that it had been left with interior lights switched on, which naturally after two weeks had flattened the battery.
So, in summary, from our point of view, a good little airport trying hard to improve, but let down by the car parking service, which incidentally I also found very expensive.
With regard to the ground handling we experienced see my entry under Easyjet.

Advantages: Readily accessible, offering many short and long haul destinations. Disadvantages: Luton could benefit from better hotel and conference facilities
