When going to Egypt you bear a few things in mind, try and travel in the off peak seasons which normally start in October when the tempreature is beginning to calm down slightly, the price too is a lot more respectable. Luxor is in the upper Egypt region and is host to the Valley of the kings and many other grand wonders.
The people are so friendly you normally end up not trusting them, always on the look out for something to happen.
I have been to Luxor 7 times now and will always return, it provides excelent value for money and the food tours hotels and many more sights are simply a must.
A few of the larger temples are in Luxor including Karnak which plays host to a wonderful Light show in the evenings.
Many Tour operators fly into Luxor so a lowcost charter flight is obtainable. Although not required I would recomend that you get a hepatitus shot as well as a Typhoid, just to save any problems..
