I have never really been a person who is very into history or even really the seven wonders of the world. Having been to egypt that totally changed and opened my eyes to many new things. In 1999 we were looking for a honeymoon destination but were on a slight budget when we noticed egypt. We thought why not, lets give it a go and it was the most wonderful experience I have ever had and long to do again. We sailed along the nile on a wonderful ship for a week which I totally recomend to everyone. The views were fantastic, as were the places we visited. Total relaxation, ahhh......! Second week we stayed in Luxor and again had a brilliant time. As we had visted so many places on the cruise we stayed put in the hotel. We went in August and as you can guess it was very very hot indeed so I would recomend visiting out of this time. The locals are often seen as a little aggressive and so it helps if you can hold your own and stand your ground! All in all a wonderful experience not to be missed.

Much more detail would be required. I know it's safe & fun for heterosexual couples but I'd like to mention that, according to Amnesty International and the UK gay associations, travelling to Egypt is not advised for gay people (like me) - see http://www.ilga.org/Information/africa/gay%20men%20in%20egypt%20amnesty%20int.htm . Shame...

my parents have ben and I would love to go. You could put more detial in this opinion. What was your hotel like? hat was Luxor the town like? Where exactly did you visit? was it cheap? what was the nightlife like? food and drink. There is so much more you could put in this
