Mecure Luxor hotel Advantages: central location,choice of food,entertainment,friendly staff Disadvantages: not much, fairly large so some rooms are a bit of a walk to get to The Mecure Luxor is a clean, spacious hotel overlooking the river nile. The hotel boasts a choice of several restaurants, an italian pool side snack bar serving pizza, burgers...great for lunch either in the sun or shade. Indoors, theres a 24 hour restaurant, great for when you get hungry after a few drinks and watching the nightly entertainment. There is a buffet restaurant with themed menus, allowing you to try different cuisines. The hotel has ... ...in-house hairdresser, shop, and even disco!! Nearby are local shops and bizaar allowing you to try your hand at haggling with the egyptians. The hotel rooms are spacious, clean, modern and room service is available. The gardens are well kept, very green and rooms can overlook the nile, the pool, or the greenery. So very luxurious Advantages: Shockingly picturesque Disadvantages: Little on the outskirts? This hotel is such a great place to go. from the advertising you can not see what great qualities this place really have. You have to stay here for a few nights to appreciate how amazing this place is. i had a great time whilst i was here as there is so much to do and there is also such much available. the staff are all extremely nice, welcoming and will always make time for you. Our stay in Luxor Advantages: Grea views, clean, close to centre and sights Disadvantages: Not a lot of entertainment Iberotel Luxor Having stayed all inclusive at the Iberotel in Sharm el Sheikh, and found it to be good value and quality, when we visited Luxor, we decided to stay at the Iberotel Luxor. The hotel is situated on the banks of the Nile and when we were looking at phots of different hotels, this is what appealed to Little miss, the fact that the pool is on the Nile. The hotel information told us that there are lovely views of the river, its West Bank ... ...when we arrived we found this to be totally true. It is located in the centre of Luxor, 10 min walking distance from the Luxor Temple and 20 min from Luxor Airport. So, given that we wanted an all inclusive clean hotel close to all of the “sights”, this looked to be exactly what we wanted. FIRST IMPRESSIONS... Nice hotel with terrible food Advantages: Nice scenery and swimming pool. Disadvantages: Poor quality of Food and no double glazed windows This hotel is considered a 4/5 star hotel by Egyptian standards however, There windows were not double glazed and my room overlooked the streets which were exceptionally noisy, it also meant you could hear the prayers from the mosque each morning too. which can be a good thing if you like to wake early. The food was apalling and very expensive, many other people on the trip mentioned the lack of variety of food. I noticed that vegetarian options ... ...grounds of the hotel were very nice, as it overlooked the Nile and you could even did your feet into the suprisingly clear and clean waters. Room service was good and the people were mostly very friendly. The most dissapointing this was having prices of anything you bought whether in the hotel or outside made up as the merchants desire, beware of being ripped off. You feel like a king on this island Advantages: You didn't have pay a fortune if you didn't want to. Disadvantages: the only let down was the kids club. ...and so we chose the Maritim Jolie Ville Luxor Resort Kings Island Luxor – Egypt which is not you’re typical 5* hotel but maybe on a par with a 3* premier inn but a premier inn set in paradise, ok the rooms were not the ritz. I have stayed in worse in this country and paid more. The setting of the sun each night was amazing, to sit there and watch it with a drink and some classical music in the background was a dream come true. Ok, I also was in the ... ...I also see the paper on the ground but saying that we had no trouble with blockages in fact the lady that cleaned our room was very good and thorough. The lady typified the whole complex every time you see her or any of the staff they always acknowledged you and said hello, I said once and ill say it again I recon that their were more gardeners there than Buckingham palace always busy and that was why the place was virtually always spotless.
