One Of The Biggest Hotels In The World
Review of Luxor, Las Vegas by daniel2005

Advantages: Amazing. Huge. Lose To Do. Fun.
Disadvantages: Not Cheap.

...is across the road from Luxor, and that has over 5000 rooms. It looks so big, it's scary! There is so much to do in Las Vegas, but also in Each hotel. The Luxor is a huge tourist attraction and lose of people go there. In Las Vegas, you don't book a hotel, go there and just wake up; go downstairs to have breakfast and sit at the pool for a couple of hours. Las Vegas and the hotels are jam packed with people, this is because they are all unique and ...
...The hotel was called The Luxor, and was based on Luxor (the place) in Egypt. It has huge Egyption models in it, and the hotel is based on Egypt. This also explains why it is a huge pyramid. Although it was tempting, and would be the best slide you would of ever been on, and the last slide, it is not a good idea to smash the window and slide down the pyramid. I imagine your bum would burn because of the glass being hot, and the friction. Also i don't ... Read review

Walk like an Eygptian
Review of Luxor, Las Vegas by Shoka

Advantages: Lovely pool, good food, choice of restaurants inside the hotel, rates
Disadvantages: You can get lost inside its so big,

...to come back to the Luxor, get into my swim gear and head out by the pool for a few hours of relaxation. Thats one of the best things about Las Vegas, although I was finishing at 4pm I could still go and get plenty of sun until at least 7pm (this was in May) the pool itself wasnt very deep but was quite big, there was enough room to swim a few leisurely lengths although at the time I was the only one doing this. The other people there were mainly ...
...to tell you about the Luxor, except that I think its one of the most impressive hotels on the strip, it stands out a mile, particularly at night when it has a laser beam that comes up out of the pyramid and shines 2 miles into space apparently! From what I can see of prices they change depending on the night. The cheapest you could get a deluxe room in one of the Towers was for $99 suites were from as low as $194 rising to $500, but from my experiene ... Read review

Pyramid magic to reflect in!
Review of Luxor, Las Vegas by jude76

Advantages: on the strip but quiet!!
Disadvantages: None!

...said they played at the Luxor, just for the atmosphere. I have to agree with them. Part of the trip was spent visiting over 30 other hotels both on and off the strip, and we spent some time in other casinos. Sorry to say, but the croupiers just are not as friendly as Luxor's. Yes, yes, yes, I can hear the cynics out there yet again saying 'they only want your money!!' - so what? If they can be nice and friendly at the same time, when I went to ...
...the time, then it makes the whole process even more enjoyable!!! Do sign up for the loyalty card when you arrive. TIP - if you play poker, make sure they swipe your card when you start and finish playing or you will not get your points!! I played on average one hour when we came in for the night, usually around 3am in the morning. By the end of ten days, I had a souvenir of a t-shirt plus money off my final hotel bill. Would have had more had hubby ... Read review

Family holiday at the Luxor, in August
Review of Luxor, Las Vegas by gemmacarolyn

Advantages: Affordable hotel on the Las Vegas strip
Disadvantages: Prices skyrocket at weekends

...of the Strip to the Luxor, so could drive down and look at all the amazing sights. The Luxor itself is one of the last hotels on the Strip, just before Mandalay Bay. We went in off-peak season, which in Vegas is around July-August. It was extremely hot throughout our stay there-over 100F every day. A key thing to remember is that Vegas is in the middle of the desert, so the heat is dry and uncomfortable at times. The Luxor itself is a wonderful and ...
...$70-$80 a night, although at the weekends expect to pay up to 4x as much, depending on the season. Always book before you go, in order to get a better deal than the standard walk in rate, which will most definately be higher than online rates. Since we were there as a family we had 2 rooms-one double and a single in the pyramid, rather than the tower. Our rooms overlooked the next property along, which is the Excalibur. Being a pyramid the windows ... Read review

Walk like an egyption.....
Review of Luxor, Las Vegas by gibbsy79

Advantages: On strip, cheap, big rooms, great casino
Disadvantages: end of strip

I went to vegas for my first time last year, and when booking was advised to stay here, and I am glad we did. It has all the expereince in staying in one of the top strip hotels, but at a cheaper rate than the ones further up the strip. Our room was HUGE, it had two double beds, the bathroom had a bath a HUGE walk in shower (big enough for about 5 people). We had a TV, the 2 double beds, air con, tea coffee maker, table and two chairs. We didn't ...
...is pure glass which is amazing as we could see out into Vegas, even if it was not the strip side. You are charged by the room there so I believe we could of had four people in the room and still pay the same. Some rooms have connecting doors so you could go in a large group and open up these doors. There are two parts when referring to rooms here, The towers and the pyramid. We stayed in one of the towers The price was quite cheap compared to other ... Read review

Luxor Hotel Las Vegas - A big fish in a big pond
Review of Luxor Hotel and Casino, Las Vegas by  maxmidnight

Advantages: An unmistakable icon on the Strip, distinctive and with no shortage of class. Exceptional price for exceptional quality of room, service and attraction. Caters for all ages, groups and functional needs. One of the best.
Disadvantages: Watch the queues and price increase around American holidays but at all other times it is a supremely priced hotel.

...To be honest, when ‘The Luxor’ first opened in 1992 I was in Las Vegas at the time staying at the ‘Mirage’ and as a boy in my late teens I thought it looked a little bit tacky and uninspiring. It may have had something to do with the fact that I was staying in one of the higher echelon hotels on the strip and was surrounded by other sensational hotels such as ‘Caesars’ and the ‘MGM Grand’. It lacked that bit of aura, that mystique that comes with a Las Vegas Casino and Hotel complex. The idea was pretty cool: build a 30-story black pyramid in the middle of the desert and put in hotel rooms and a casino with an Egyptian theme, but it just didn’t have the feel or look of something to rival the big Casino’s. However once the Mandalay Resorts (the owners of the property) threw a few million dollars (around 300 to be precise... Read review

Addicted to Luxor, Las Vegas
Review of Las Vegas by  netmoneymaker

Advantages: Cheap, Modern, Many attractions within the hotel
Disadvantages: Pool area not open all day

...All that is great about Las Vegas is encapsulated within the Luxor Hotel in Las Vegas. You can't miss the giant pyramid , rising from the Nevada Desert, guarded by the equally impressive Sphynx. The pyramid itself can hold a fleet of jumbo jets. It houses the mandatory casino, several restaurants, night clubs, an IMAX Theatre and best of all, a full size recreation of the tomb of King Tutankhamen. Being a new hotel (as most in Vegas) the rooms are spacious and modern. I have stayed a few times and found that the best rooms are in either of the Towers rather than in the pyramid itself which can be quite noisy with the continuous "chinking" from the casino. Room rates vary depending on what's on in Vegas. Saturdays are by far the most expensive, but during the week you can stay for as little as $40. Booking over... Read review

OH CAMEL YE HOLIDAYMAKERS TO THE LOVELY LUXOR
Review of Luxor Hotel and Casino, Las Vegas by  junkboxjules

Advantages: Central Location, loads going on for both children and adults, if you shop around you can get a great deal
Disadvantages: We did initially get put in a smoking room when we'd requested non smoking but that was soon resolved to our satisfaction and with no fuss

...In April 2003, I visited America for the first time, the reason behind the visit was to attend my brothers wedding which took place in a hotel in the mountains, about a half an hour drive from Las Vegas. Whilst in Las Vegas we stayed in the Luxor Hotel, it is situated on the strip, although not on the main part of the strip, and consists of two large tower blocks full of rooms and a unique pyramid building which is also used for accommodation. In total there are over 4000 rooms available in the Luxor - and believe it or not they are very often fully booked. We had booked a pyramid room as we thought it would be quite unique to stay in the pyramid and use the inclinator to go up and down from our room. Check in was straight forward and there were lots of well groomed staff waiting to check us in. When we arrived at our room we... Read review
