I went to vegas for my first time last year, and when booking was advised to stay here, and I am glad we did. It has all the expereince in staying in one of the top strip hotels, but at a cheaper rate than the ones further up the strip.
Our room was HUGE, it had two double beds, the bathroom had a bath a HUGE walk in shower (big enough for about 5 people). We had a TV, the 2 double beds, air con, tea coffee maker, table and two chairs. We didn't have the best view, but one end of the room is pure glass which is amazing as we could see out into Vegas,
even if it was not the strip side. You are charged by the room there so I believe we could of had four people in the room and still pay the same. Some rooms have connecting doors so you could go in a large group and open up these doors.
There are two parts when referring to rooms here, The towers and the pyramid. We stayed in one of the towers
The price was quite cheap compared to other hotels on the strip, as it is down one end. i was advised by someone not to stay in the pyramid and I was a bit disappointed at that, but when I got there we were given the choice and I said Tower. this turned out to be a good idea as the pyramid rooms appear to over look the casino, and as this is 24 hours I can imagine some of the lower down rooms being noisy.Be warned though, Vegas is a 24 hour city, so we did find it could get noisey with people coming past at all hours, but not enough for me to find it a problem.
The Check in was very busy. The hotel is so big, and yet they seemed to have only 10 check in desks, so we had to wait a while in the queue. Same happened on check out, loas of people there, and they were quite slow.
We stayed here for 10 nights. The prices are REALLY high at the weekends and it is REALLY busy. I think we ended up paying about £80 a night during the week and £130 at weekend. So I would recommend going midweek, it is quieter and better value. You will still get the atmosphere as I don't think there is such a thing as a quiet night in Vegas.
Well where do I start with this hotel, it has a great casino. Remember you can get free drinks whilst on the casino floor betting so sit near a machine and confidently call over one of the girls wearning nothing and ask for a drink. Just remember to tip once you have the drink and they will come back!
The buffet is ok at breakfast, but I would recommend the cafe for breakfast more as you can get pancakes etc and still pay less than a buffet - depends how much you eat though. Soft drinks are refillable, and they will constantly be around to top up. On the first morning I had 5 coffees before I realised!! A nice cheap option for dinner is to go to the lunch buffet at the end of the time slot, it is the same as the dinner buffet but you save money.
A tip if you haven't been to a casino brfore (that was me) is go to one of the free lessons they hold on the floor in late morning / early afternoon, as they will show you everything you need to know. They were really nice about it as well, not patronising in the slightest.
Always carry ID - you are checked everywhere. If you are under 21 and thinkin gof going, don't, there is not that much to do and you won't even be allowed to go onto the casino floor.
All staff in casino were really friendly, loved the fact we were english, kept getting us to talk and then repeating it!
I will be honest and say the pool is not he best on the strip, but are you in Vegas to swim! All I ask for is a sun lounger, pool and frozen alcoholic drinks delivered to me....
The hotel is at one end of the strip, so as it is a few miles long (the strip) it can take a while to get to one end. But we walked one way and got a cab back down. You can walk through all the different hotels to take advantage of the air con!
on the subject of air con, the Luxor has a really good one so take a jumper, itmight be 35 degrees outside, but not inside!
I would definatly recommend this hotel, the best experience I have ever had, and constantly find myself comparing hotel rooms to this one!

I loved that hotel, shame I stayed at the Stratosphere, which is completley at the other end of the strip and in the burning heat, no chance of getting anywhere without a taxi.

I felt that there was too litlte about the actual residential side to the hotel. Bedrooms etc.

Advantages: An unmistakable icon on the Strip, distinctive and with no shortage of class. Exceptional price for exceptional quality of room, service and attraction. Caters for all ages, groups and functional needs. One of the best. Disadvantages: Watch the queues and price increase around American holidays but at all other times it is a supremely priced hotel.
Advantages: Central Location, loads going on for both children and adults, if you shop around you can get a great deal Disadvantages: We did initially get put in a smoking room when we'd requested non smoking but that was soon resolved to our satisfaction and with no fuss
