...New York is brilliant! There is no other way to describe it. From the moment you arrive to the moment you leave, you are guarenteed the time of your life. Firstly, there is the heritage. This is examined through the Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building, and the the World Trade CEntre. Then you have Bloomingdales, a large brilliant shopping centre where things are definately a fracxtion of the price that you pay at home. You can take a look at Madison Square Garden or try and get into one of the many themed restaurants that are all over the city. In a word, this place is great!...

Advantages: many stores and attactions Disadvantages: confusing
...New York is a city of business. But it's also a city of tourism and
culture with it's great museums and attractions. Everybody should go
tere and try out the New York subway. The amount of different people
and places are amazing. Central park is a must. They have the cleanest
park I have ever seen and have these floral arrangements that are
fabulous. But you can't forget about shopping, it's just too hard, there's too many stores to choose from. Overall, New Yorkcity
is fantastic to visit but personnally, I find it too confusing to live
in....

Advantages: Clean and well equipped good position Disadvantages: expensive for the single traveller
...The Hotel Pennsylvannia is the best hotel I have stayed in in central
Manhattan. It is perfectly situated for easy access to all of NewYorks best sights. For the single traveller it may be expensive as I found on my first visit but for two it is great. I reccomend booking in advance as rooms are very expensive taken on arrival. Times Square, Maddison Square Gardens, Empire State Building, Central Park and Fifth Avenue are all within easy walking distance. The Statue of Liberty is only a short train ride from the hotel - Look for route 1 at any underground access point. The Hotel has a very good selection of places to eat at resonable prices and has clean spacious well equipped rooms and friendly staff available to assist you at any time.
Well worth the trip a very enjoyable Hotel....

The New Yorker is in an excellent midtown location with the subway (lines A, C & E) literally steps outside. Being on the corner of 8th Avenue and 34th Street this meant good access to Macy's, Empire State Building, Madison Square Gardens and the... more
Postmodernism, eh? It's a funny old bag of fish. Even the holier-than-thou critics don't quite seem to know what it's all about. They argue whether it's
a) a revolt against modernism,
b) a progression of modernism,
c) both of these and more
or d) more
