The room was lovely. It was very large with comfy sofa and chairs. The bathroom was also an excellent size. The only thing missing from the room seemed to be an iron, although there was an ironing board. The restuarant was fantastic with oak panelled walls. The breakfast is made to order and is delicious. The menu for the evening meal looked impressive - although we ate in Shrewsbury so cannot really comment.
The bar is pretty good for a hotel, but on a wet autumn evening it was not enough to keep us there all evening. The only downside for us was the location - too far out of the city to walk, so got a taxi, and had a long wait for a taxi back. The quite location however will probably be perfect for others.
The other point of interest for the stay - was a fire in the middle of the night, so we were all out in the carpark at 3.00am! It was well organised however with free hot drinks and snacks provided, and we were soon back in our rooms. No lasting damage was done.
I got an excellent price deal due to a business relationship, it normally costs around £110-£125 for a double room b&b.
Overall a lovely hotel that I would return to even with the discounted rate
