I remember staying at this hotel 15 years and thinking "this is OK but it could be amazing. Aviemore is a great town, in a lovely part of Scotland and this hotel should be a hotel of flagship standards . . " well now it is! I spent three nights here over the new year period and it has far surpassed anything it ever was. I was in a double room which was a decent size, not huge but enough room for the two of us. It was well maintained, with ... ...The food was good and there was plenty of choice for breakfast. It wasn't just fried breakfast or cereal, there was other options to keep it interesting like local kippers or porridge. I can also highly recommend the hotel bar, very good service and a lovely range of local whiskeys!! We got a deal on the price through a hotel room search website, but it would be worth paying full price for. Also the location is good right in the town centre. ... more
