Whittlebury Hall Hotel and Spa

Advantages: Pleasant staff, facilities, closeness to Silverstone
Disadvantages: Remoteness

I've probably stayed at Whittlebury Hall about twenty times over the past three and a half years when attending work-related courses. (Before reading this review be warned that any of my negative comments about the hotel are probably influenced by the fact that when I've stayed there it's never been for pleasure - the days of boredom I've spent within its walls listening to people talking about IFRS accounting and deferred tax have probably made me more negative than I would otherwise be!) The first view you get of the hotel is magnificent. As you are driven up the long drive you can't help but be impressed by the style of the two-storey building and the grounds that surround it. The reception area as you enter the hotel is also impressive and quite grand looking - the area has very comfortable huge leather couches and a warm ...

Last Drop Village Hotel

Advantages: Full usage of Spa, gym, pool
Disadvantages: Choice of food served in main restaurant

We have recently returned from our 3-day break at this hotel. After reading other reviews of this hotel we were very apprehensive about our stay. On our arrival we were greeted by very friendly staff and made to feel very welcome. We were given very clear details of the facilities available to us and also breakfast and dinner times. Our executive room was lovely , clean and warm and well worth the extra supplement. Great choice at breakfast and carvery was very nice at the alternative restaurant The Last Drop Inn. In my opinion we have had a very pleasurable stay, staff were very attentive and nothing was too much trouble.Glad to see that the small quaint shops were still to the rear of the hotel which are not mentioned on their website. In my opinion there website does not do the hotel justice and needs some updating. If you want to ...

Review of Macdonald Last Drop Village Hotel & Spa, Bolton

One of Bolton's finest hotels.

Advantages: Beautiful location, close to good pubs and restaurants
Disadvantages: Quite expensive

My partner and myself enjoy staying in hotels just outside our local area, and the Last Drop Village Hotel and Spa was a destination we had been intending to try for a while. The village itself is very quaint and surrounds the hotel which is well known around the area as an exclusive and rather expensive hotel experience. The nearest village to the hotel is Bromley Cross which is a ten minute walk away and is well supplied with all the pubs and restaurants one could wish for if a night out is required rather than a relaxing night in, sampling the many facilities of probably the finest hotel in this area. The hotel itself is rather sprawling and quirky, and is more a complex than a bonafide village in it's own right. The hotel is very traditional and not in the least like some low market travel lodge. The facilities include ...
