Advantages: Less people in bad weather, GO to the parade, even in rain Disadvantages: CROWDS, and hardly any view if you arrive after NINE AM
Here's a review of an attempt to see the Thanksgiving day parade in New York City, (year 2006) . Okay, so here's advice on how to get a better view of the parade for NEXT YEAR: 1. Arrive MORE THAN EARLY. We were told that some of the high school bands arrived there at around three or four AM that morning. And, we asked them about how many people were there at that time. They said there were hundreds and hundreds of people. So, arrive at three AM ... ...look at the parade. 2. Bring your own snacks and drinks because once you are in your SPACE at the parade, you won't get to leave there until the parade is over. You are literally LOCKED into your space because people are shoulder to shoulder behind the blue police lines (blue wooden barracades). 3. Try not to let the little children drink too much while you are in your space because there is no where to go to the bathroom once you are in your viewing ...

Advantages: amazing show, great city, holiday atmosphere Disadvantages: rainy but noones fault
New York was where I spent my first and last thanksgiving and where I was also celebrating my 21 st birthday on the same day. The biggest problem with the parade is that it was a very rainy day and the streets were full of people messing around with umbrellas and children crying. However, the parade itself was fantastic with giant inflatable cartoon characters and floats and music. This sort of parade puts any other parade I've seen to shame in terms ... ...different on Thanksgiving day in that a lot of streets are empty and there are a lot of people on only a few streets and the whole place is very quiet in comparison to the day before or after. The spectacle was worth coming to see and as Christmas shoopping really starts the following day it is worth coming to the parade, spednign thanksgiving in New York and then hitting the shops for the next couple of the days during the sales. I recoomend this ...

We got bumped up to business class (oh yes) and had top grub and champers on tap (was a bit squiffy on arrival).
The minute you see that Manhattan skyline, you can not believe you are really, finally there. I was like a big kid I have to say. It took my breath away.
We arrived on ThanksgivingDay and had our first mad experience of our cab driver dropping us of a block or two from our Hotel, because a lot of streets were closed due to the `Macy`sThanksgivingDayParade`, but it was actually dead close, but we didn`t know that of course.
The place was a hive of activity, as you would...

I can remember about ten years ago collecting "Neighbours" stickers in the playground and Beth Brennan, aka Natalie Imbruglia, being seriously hot property. Whilst us girls were keen to add any character, even the likes of Harold and Lou, to our precious more
'The Day of The Jackal' was written by Frederick Forsyth and is the second novel of his that I have read, the first being the 'The Fourth Protocol'. The thing that I wondered at the end of both novels is, how can this be fiction.
