I was lucky enough to nab a fantastic job last year as a activaties assistant for an Italian summer school based in London. The greatest benefit was getting to see all the sites of London absolutley free! My all time favourite was Madame Tussards and I loved it so much the first time that I visited that I volunteered to assist on all trips there and therefor visited Tussards 5 times in one month!!!
Madame Tussards is based on Baker Street just a small walk from Baker St tube station.
The wax work images inside where so life like that I half expected Kylie to burst in to song or Tony Blair to start making a political speech! The best thing is that you are allowed to take photographs of the models and pose with them! The models are so life like that even Linford Christie had his legendary lunchbox-i checked!!
Also models are situated throughout other places such as the souvenier shop and the cafe. I felt abit stupid when I realised that the strange man that kept staring at me in the cafe queue was infact Benny Hill(well, I didn't know who he was!, Madame Tussards really is a great day out and there is even a section of the tour where you are shown how the models are made.
I recentley went to the other wax works exhibition Louis Tussards in Blackpool. Somehow the models in this exhibition didn't seem half as good as the ones at the original London site. I think that the models within Madame Tussards and the Rock circus are definatley the best wax works.
The beauty of it is that its a great day out for all the family, old and young. There are models from every generation, from charlie Chaplin right up to Brad Pitt. I think the tickets worked out at something like £6 children and £8 for adults.
If you are planning a trip to London don't miss this great day out to mingle with the stars!

A pity I didn't have time to go when I last went to London. I wouldn't mind the job of melting down all the political figures. They are so realistic that the real ones might get melted down "accidentally"!!! Look forward to readinng more of your opinions/reviews. M :)

Advantages: Indoors, quite a lot to see Disadvantages: It is a walk-through place, so not a place for little kids who might be overcome by the need to touch
