Advantages: Extensive Ski-ing, great night life Disadvantages: Can be Expensive if you don't watch out
...the stuff.
This year Chalet Inoko costs between £369 - £859 depending which week you go. The most expensive week is Valentines Week in Feb. If you think that's expensive - check out the 1000s of pounds the luxury chalets cost!
Your alternative option is an apartment. We stayed in the Pierre et Vacance - ValD'Isere Centre apartments, complete with heated outside pool for the adventurous. Don't expect much living space if you book an apartment. There were four of us, head to toe, in the lounge area. And when one of your party is a snorer it's best to come prepared with some earplugs. But on the upside, this accomodation is cheap - we paid £379 between 4 of us, and then our flight costs and transfers were extra. The apartment was very clean, small but cute kitchenette and there was continuos piping hot water.
This year these apartments...

Advantages: Great ski area, great snow dec-april, fantastic lively apres ski and nightlife, beuatifully kept, clean resort Disadvantages: Busy slopes at peak season, expensive drinks!
...is Fornet, which is just out of town at Le Fornet end (a 5 minute bus ride, on one of the excellent free buses which run every 5 mintes too), there are some tree runs at Le Fornet which are very pretty, however its also the most avalanche prone area when snow can get heavy December to February. The last area is at the opposite end of the town to Le Fornet and is La Daille ( you'll pass La Daille on your way into Val as it's the only way into the resort, which is basically on one long straight road). Again, this is just a 5 minute bus ride from the town centre. La Daille has its own bubble and also a train (this actually takes you right up to the same point as the Olympic bubble), it's as if they had a competition to have as many different lifts as they could in Vald'Isere and Tigne! I've never been to a resort with such a fantastic...

Advantages: Great resort, good food, pubs clubs. new cheap lift pass £100 Disadvantages: Long queues, expensive, weak selection of runs
...Vald 'isere is without doubt a great resort with all the amenities anyone living for a week or so high in the Alps could wish for, and without a doubt it has one of the most extensive skiing areas in Europe on the Espace de Killy (spelling).
But I would not rate this as a great resort, I have been going to Vald'isere amoungst other resort for 15years now and although I have never been short on runs to ski, I have also never been short of queues to stand in and slow lifts to sit on. The runs are extensive, but extensive in a blue and green kind of way, great for beginners you may say, well no actually becuase most runs in the area are long drawn out flat ones with occassional steep sections just to destroy a beginners confidence and frustrate an advanced skiiers techniqe.
The lift queues like any other alpine resorts are often...
