Hello everyone. I went to Magaluf in June 2005, and I had the best holiday ever. This review is about my experiences there and what I enjoyed mostly about the whole thing.
There are so many things I enjoyed about Magaluf I don't know where to start.
-Hotel-
First let me tell you about the Hotel I stayed at. I stopped at the Sol Jamaica. A very large family based hotel, next to all the shops, clubs and bars, and the beach. Everything was in walking distance to this hotel. The rooms were lovely, with air conditioning, and plenty of space. The staff were more than helpful and very polite. The entertainment was fantastic. They had something different for you every night. Some nights they would bring professional entertainers in, weather they would be comedians, dancers or singers, it would always be something for the whole family. Other nights their own entertainment staff put on a show for you. The entertainment staff worked very hard at keeping everyone happy, and one of them called David was the funniest man I have ever met, so many people loved him, he certainly makes your stay more enjoyable.
The entertainment through the day was more than enough, having water polo, archery, rifle shooting, pool table games, family competitions and many other group activities.
The pool was large enough to accommodate for the hotel. There were bars inside the hotel, and by the pool area. You could also venture into the Sol Trinidad, who share the same entertainment staff, if you wanted too do different activities, or watch a different show on the night time.
We went half board, and the food was gorgeous, and a very wide selection. They had variety of meet, fish and salads, all very nice. And the sweets were adorable. It was certainly one of the best hotels I have ever had the pleasure of staying at.
-Attractions You Must Visit! -
Pirates- After hearing so many good things said about this show, me and my family decided to check it out. We paid 15 euros, which included the show, drinks and meals. The food was good and you could have as many drinks as you wanted. The show was out of this world. They performed unbelievable stunts and great aerial performances. The musicals and sword fighting was fantastic, the whole family really enjoyed it, and not one person walking out of that place had a bad word to say about it. It was one of the best experiences of my holiday
Western Water park- If you are looking for big slides, water shows, water rides or just a swim, take you and your company to this place. It made a great day. Personally you would never have got me on some of the slides they had, but if your somewhat of a daredevil, I bet it's a mind blowing experience. The diving shows they had were very entertaining, and for 12 euros, you could stay there for the whole day. Prices do vary at different parts of the year, but it's never too expensive.
-The Bars and Clubs-
Well I visited so many so I will just tell you about a few.
BCM- Now for those of you who have never heard of this, it's a club an Magaluf where you pay x amount and get your drinks free all night, and a goody bag. The particular night I went I paid 15 euros and received a BCM hat and T-Shirt. This is a place I would recommend for the young adults. It is very lively, gets very busy, and a lot of drinking going on. It is good value for money, they have professional dancers on, some exotic, some techno dancers. Lots of bars. A lot of people go there for stag and hen nights. When I went, they had male and female strippers on, and the place was heaving, I don't think I have ever drunk so much, but an enjoyable experience never the less.
The Piano Bar- A quiet pub with some light night time entertainment, a place mainly to go for a quiet drink.
Magaluf Show Bar- They have different shows every night, brilliant friendly staff. We visited there often. They hold lots of karaoke nights, and the hypnotist shows are very funny.
Boomerangs- This is just a nightclub for the adults too let loose, and one I visited often, a lot of club reps go there, and a decent club to visit.
Linerkars Bar- Yes Gary Linerkars pub chain, this is a great bar for all you football fans, they have all the matches for you.
-The Beach-
Magaluf beach is very large, with lovely sandy beaches a clear blue water. Bars stretches right across it. You can hire boats and jet ski's and they also have scuba lessons along there. Who doesn't like the beach? I spent a lot of time there with my girlfriend, and it always made a pleasant day.
-Thing too watch out for-
There will be lots of local who will want your credit card details and offer you time shares, either through scratch cards or saying you have won something when really you have to pay for it. Don't be conned, my advice is too ignore them and carry on with whatever you are doing, so many have had bad experiences, no matter how sincere they seem, or how greater the prize they offer you.
Also beware of the gold that some locals try and sell you. They may seem real, but they have cut a part of the jewellery that have the gold mark on, and put it on their own jewellery items. I brought a chain, it turned a funny colour after a week, and it made my skin green. Only buy from the shops!
-Places to eat out-
If you want a break from the food your hotel has too offer, I would recommend Tom Browns. It's an English restaurant, that do full English breakfast menus, great stakes, and loads more. Good food, and great value. There are many restaurants including fast food outlets like McDonalds and KFC.
-Shopping-
Plenty of shops for clothing and holiday items, also lots of handbag stores and shoe shops. Personally I would venture into Palma, and visit the markets. It's a very large market with everything, about 15 miles away from Magaluf, 30 euros max in taxi.

The first thing you must know about magaluff in mallorca is the ratio of lads to lasses its great for the girls but not so good for the lads. There is a 5:1 ratio of lads to lasses. There are pleanty of great pubs and clubs over there in Mallorca with big names playing all summer in BCM including Judge Juses and Phats and Small. Some of the clubs have cream wrestling, mud wrestling, popcorn parties (where they spray you with loads of popcorn), water ... ...are pretty similar to those here in the UK but you have to watch out for dodgy spanish barmen that will give you change from a 2000pts note when you give them a 5000pts one. The beach over there is quite nice and clen too and there is not much dog crap anywhere (which makes a change from all the beaches here in sunny england). The weather when we were there was really nice, sunny with a constant cooling breaze wich was needed as otherwise you would ...

Advantages: Great nightlife, prices are hugely cheap Disadvantages: No hint of Spanish culture, dirty
...a slight drug culture in Magaluf, chances are you will be approached by someone trying to sell you drugs. Usually you will be fine as long as you say "no thanks" and keep moving.
Along with the low price of everything comes a certain price to pay. Many of the hotels are unclean, and the chances of sleeping at night are minimal because chances are you will have drunken teenagers running around the hotels, shouting, screaming and god-knows what else.
... ...to go for a party holiday, look no further. This is the place for you. The night-life here is right up with other places in the world, such as Zante, or Ibiza. If your idea of a holiday consists of a bit more culture, and active day times rather than active night times, it would probably be best to look elsewhere. ...

Advantages: Wicked Nightlife Disadvantages: Didn't come upon any
Stayed here in August 2003 and really , really enjoyed it. I went as part of a group of 8 girls aged 18- 21 and we all had a wicked time!
We stayed in the playa cas s'abones apartments and were very impressed by their size and cleanliness, it was well worth paying the little extra for decent accomodation!
We went here for the nightlife and we weren't disappointed. This place is pumping. You have your traditional bars and clubs. A great offer here ... ...boomerangs,car wash, bananas and tokyo joe's and entitled you to a free drink. This makes for very cheap nights out!!
Magaluf is a very reasonable resort. Expect to pay around 10 euro for a meal with drinks included. A great little find is tom browns on magaluf beachfront- british grub served by british staff if your missing your home comforts!!! also a bargain- sunday roast with all the trimmings and a drink for 7 euro.
Magaluf is well stocked ...

Advantages: Lively, cheap, excellent beaches. Disadvantages: Dirty, full of english louts. The city never sleeps.
I went to Magaluf in June 2005. This was my first holiday experience without being in the company of my parents.
Me and my boyfriend arrived at the hotel after a two hour flight and a 40 minute coach journey. The hotel looked extremely minging from the outside. The Fiesta Magamar it was called. You walk in and find that there are about eight floors, there are corridors around the inside of the building with a hollow middle part. This means that ... ...bottom reception. (The layout compared to that you would expect to see in a prison.)
We went to our room and first of all looked out of the balcony, we had a great view over the mountains, from our window we could see two nearby water parks and a go-karting track. The view was slightly spoiled by a broken chair lodged in a tree below, surround by a blow up doll and a pair of lads underwear.
At this time it was roughly 7am, we decided not to sleep ...

Advantages: Lots to do, BCMs, Pirates Disadvantages: Food can be expensive
This holiday was my first without my parents in July 2006. I was with my boyfriend and we were staying in the Majorca Beach Hotel in Magaluf. 1.The Hotel - Majorca Beach Hotel
Plain from outside, but rooms were of a good standard. We were self-catering, so didn't experience the food but we were told my other holiday makers it was good. The hotel was in a good location, near enough to the strip that you could stumble home, but far enough away so ... ...the beach too!
There were two pools, an adults and kids pool. Very cold and lovely in the sun but boring and square and quite deep. The hotel 'apparently' made sure no one reserved sun loungers near the pool, but every morning nearly all the sun loungers were taken, so best bet was to get up early and stick a towel on a couple. The hotel had an excellent shop which sold english food, spanish food, inflatables, suncream, newspapers, magazines, cards ...

Advantages: Great, good value night out Disadvantages: none!
When you go to Majorca, you must see the Pirates show that is held in Magaluf.
they do two types of show, one family and one for adults only! I have been to both and the family one is brilliant fun. Almost like a panto in some ways, it tells the tale of a group of pirates and their adventures. There are acrobats and fire eating amongst other things. It really is a spectacular site.
Along with all this, you get wine and beer and squash for the kids and a basket mea too! ( This is generally finger food such as chicken wings, some potato wedges, hot dogs etc depending on when you go.)
You get to become a kid yourself again and get really involved in the plot.
The adults show is slightly different, a bit more swearing and a bit more suggestive in some parts!
Both shows are amazing and you would be missing out if you didn;t go during ...
Advantages: Whole show is brilliant. Disadvantages: None.
) trying to steal the treasure. There are 4 captains defending it and the audience are divided up into sections to support each captain. The actual show left us open mouthed, with acrobats and fire eaters doing things that you didn't think possible. You haven't seen anything until you've seen a man balancing another man on his head WHILST climbing a rope ladder!!! A photographer goes around taking pictures and these are currently charged at 12 euros each. There is also a stall for buying souvenirs and prices vary there. The buses stop nearby and taxis are reasonably priced (it was 5 euros from Palma Nova)to get there. It is also only a short walk from the main centre of Magaluf. It is a must see during your stay in Majorca. ...
Advantages: Exceptional show of acrobatics and entertainment, unlimited free sangria and soft drinks! Disadvantages: Merchandise is extortionate, food is only so so
