A Pirate's life for me!

Advantages: Exceptional show of acrobatics and entertainment, unlimited free sangria and soft drinks!
Disadvantages: Merchandise is extortionate, food is only so so

...do you get hammered by Pirates trying to sell you extortionately priced merchandise, you also have to queue up for quite a while. We queued for half an hour in the scorching sun with only a couple of gazebos dotted here and there for shade. Hoewever at least there is a sensible reason for the queueing as one of the crew is meticulously planning where to sit your party. The Pirates Dinner Show is definitely one of those once in a lifetime experiences ...
...with dinner thrown in The Pirates Dinner Show is simply breathtaking. Mind you, it has to be considering it costs a hefty fifty-one euros for an adult and twenty-nine fifty for a child. It is certainly one of the most expensive things a family can do in Mallorca but then you do get a lot for your money. Firstly, once seated one of the crew will come and explain how things work. You have a number of hanging basket type contraptions which your food ...

Duty free dream

Advantages: Duty free
Disadvantages: Been 20 plus times can not think of many

...love the duty free in Palma Airport, makes the tat we sell in the UK Duty free look like what it is tasteless. Excellent review wonderful country and people. Families should try the north part of the Island, try renting a villa. But be warned the locals love to scratch cars and play bumper cars and driving in some parts in very dangerous when off the beaten track. Be warned the locals do not speak Spanish. There is a very proud Catalan culture on ...
...months perfecting Spanish only to realise these are a very independent people from the Spanish though it seemed to me 90% of visitors are from the Spanish main land I advise trying to avoid the topless sand sea and sex brit troops who have given the locals the local joke name "Majorca" in Catalan the two L's of Mallorca make J. and the Spanish always refer to the island maJorca when referring to the brit pack often in a cockney accent. ...

Travelling Back in Time

Advantages: Stunning views, beautiful trains
Disadvantages: Crowds at peak periods - something that would be more enjoyable at quieter times

On my recent trip to Spain I wanted to spend a day out of Palma Nova and revisit Palma de Mallorca, the capital city of the island of Majorca. However doing anything with my daughter tends to lead to arguments and I have learned over the years that it’s usually better to just do things on the spur of the moment otherwise she will dismiss any suggestions with a resounding “no”. So I told her we were going to go to Palma and keeping things suitably ...
...Estacio Intermodal in central Palma. From there I crossed the street to the station for the Ferrocarril de Soller (FS), a historic railway that links Palma with the town of Soller on the west coast of the island. The railway dates from 1912 and was originally built to transport lemons and oranges from the groves on the island to the ports of both Soller and Palma, but nowadays this railway is used predominantly by tourists, although locals do use ...

Great day out, cheap at right places

Advantages: cheap, great range of dolphins, sea lions etc...
Disadvantages: casn get crowded, but thats expected

This place is absolutely great. Went to magalluf with my girlfriend this year and went here for the day. It was very hot and walking round this place was great. You can have your picture taken with the large parrots which is exciting for the younger ones... and for me :) The sea lions are brilliant and also the dolphin shows, they are crowded but thats to be expected. You can go down underground and see the dolphins through some large windows swimming ...
...and they come really close up, this is good for the kids they'l love it. It is a very fun day out and you can spend a good 3 or 4 hours there atleast, come out with a great tan at the end of the day. The prices arent too bad, although dont pay at the gate. Buy the tickets from some of the small excursion shops around magaluf anfd palma nova its much cheaper and you also get free bus ride there and back... although i prefer to walk in the lovely ...

Whooshhh lets get soaked!!!!

Advantages: Great family day out, clean, friendly & lots of choice
Disadvantages: No signs for direction.

The Western Water Park - Magaluf I decided to write a review on this Water Park as we had such a good day out there. We went for a day trip to The Western Water Park while we were in Majorca on holiday last summer (2006) The attraction opens up at 10.00 ******** Background******* As we were staying at the Barcelo hotel (see Op) in Cala d’Or we were offered by our First choice reps if we wanted to attended any of the local trips. We unfortunately ...
...we opted to go the Western Water Park instead. As we had made quite a good friendship with another family we asked if they wanted to come along with us so the children could play along together. So we all went along to the next Rep meeting and booked our day out. ********Costs & Travelling ******** Western Water Park is a family-oriented destination just outside the Majorcan resort of Magaluf. The trip to Western Water Park we found the pricing ...
