I've seen the Future, and it's Pringles!

Advantages: Varied and spectacular mountain scenery, peace and quiet
Disadvantages: It's on top of a hill, and Richard Branson's found it

...either on the road to Deia, or from the crazy Victorian train from Palma to Soller, which latter is well worth the train fare, as you can sometimes reach out from the carriage windows and steal oranges from the groves as you pass by, at the right time of year. The Victorian Palma-Soller train is amply covered in other Ciao reviews, and is lots of fun, although I think that taking cushions for your bum, as suggested in another review, is taking things ...
...towards Soller. As we approached Deia, we could even see the Hostal, perched precariously on the improbable spiky mini-mountain to which Deia clings, to our left as we swerved around the snaking road, littered with rocks, with the remains of less fortunate tourist cars and coaches, rusting silently below in the valley. 'Here we are!' we chirruped gaily as the Ford Fusion wallowed around the abruptly bendy approach road. Then within seconds, we suddenly ...

Majorca great for kids great for everyone

Advantages: You can hire a car and get around the island
Disadvantages: Magaluf a no no if you don't like too many night attractions

Palma Nova, Majorca I love Majorca, having been quite a few times when I was a child. This time I went with my parents, brother, his girlfriend (but they had split up) and our children. I had Daniel, my son who was 5 at te time and my sister in law had Nathan who was about 18months. Well, by the time the holiday came around Milly (sister in law) had split up with my brother so the plan was that she would share the room with me instead of where she ...
...dreading it, but when we arrived at the hotel and was allocated our rooms it was fine. The rooms weer large. They consisted of a living room with a sofa bed, coffee table, balconey (overlooking the pool) and a very large kitchen bar which had the much needed appliances. Kettle, fridge, cooker and cupboards filled to the brim with everything you have at home; pots and pans, crockery and cutlery. It was great having a fridge, the first thing we both ...

A mallorcan experience to be treasured!

Advantages: Cheap, likely to meet Natives rather than just holidaying Brits, Perfect for Divers
Disadvantages: Can be rather a sleepy village at times, You can see it all in a day

Porto Colom is a quiet little village inhabited by about 400 people. The weird thing is, you will find that everyone is either elderly or an infant. There is a lack of teenagers to be found during the week but they come out in swarms on a Friday and Saturday night to venture down to Zona 3-2, the local Spanish nightclub, of which the owner and the bar staff are very nice to look at. Most of the bars are situated at a central location, midway between ...
...the Harbour. The fact that Porto Colom can probably be covered by foot in 30 minutes means you have time to scope out the best places for yourself. The hotels in the area are great. There's not a bad thing to say about any of them. The rooms are clean and trust me I saw a fair few during my time living out there. Everything is clean and nobody can do enough for you. It's good to get onside and friendly with the hotel staff as they have the cheapest ...

Cala Bona - Tip-Top..!!

Advantages: Close amenities/Friendly locals/Nightlife/Shopping/Food to suit all
Disadvantages: quiet at times and building construction going on as the area is seeing more touism

...walked along the prominade to Cala Millor but you can get a taxi from Cala Bona taxi rank just where the beach is - (by the way there is a much larger beach at Cala Millor but it can get very busy in high season my advice grab a spot when you can as all the watersports, bungie spring etc is based at Cala Millor. The taxi won't cost you much as its not far at all, about 60-70Euros. Do put on your seatbelt though, these guys like to get the job done ...
...up the shopping streets in Cala Millor. All in all I found that I got to sleep at night in the nice peaceful resort of Cala Bona and had Cala Millor on my doorstep. I counldn't have asked for more it was everything a holiday should be FUN, RELAXING, ALL NIGHT PARTYING, VERY FRIENDLY LOCALS, CULTURE. Do check out the food at 'Smugglers' on the harbour fantastic for a chicken curry and on the main road in Cala Bona there is a yorkshire pub I think ...

Bouganvila Park - Enjoyable

Advantages: Lots of things to do in a nice location
Disadvantages: Fairly long distance to the town/sea

...20-40 minutes walk away and bouganvilla operate and free shuttle bus down to the beach and town. The beach is well worth a visit and wiht big waves on some days provides a perfect place for bodyboarding. The local shops provide you wiht adequate supplies to make your own meals and also if you want to nip down to the local shop from the apartments after the buses stop you can just go down the road as there is one 10 minutes away. Night life The night ...
...shows in the "big top" free of charge this can be everything from magic shows, circus acta to singing. also after that sometimes there is adult entertainment. Before for thje little ones there is amini disco and prize presentation. You can escape the resort and travel down to the beach and find a nice restuarant depending on how you fell and what you want as there are many many of restuarants. Although they may sound expensive when you get there, ...
