Happily married with three children. Work part time as a course administrator at Portsmouth University. Into fitness in a big way. Work out at least 5 times a week. Haven't been around much lately. Trying to fit housework in mainly!!

I have been to Majorca twice in the last three years. On the first occasion, I went with my husband and our two children who were 4 and 2 at the time. We chose Majorca because of the relatively short flight time of two hours. We stayed in Alcudia at the Marte Hotel which is in an all inclusive complex which also includes the hotelsJupiter and Saturno. We went in the second and third weeks of May. The first week was very unsettled, rainy and windy, but the second week was beautiful and the temperature got warmer by the day. The resort of Alcudia is very busy but geared more for families rather than singles. The beach is sandy and very clean.
We hired a car locally for a week and I think this was probably one of the best decisions we made. Car hire is very cheap. We paid about the same amount for a whole week's car hire as we would have for just one day excursion for us all. Most holidaymakers going to Majorca seem to just sunbathe and go for the great nightlife but there is another side to Majorca which only few see. The mountain area is absolutely beautiful and if I were to recommend one trip I would not hesitate to recommend the Caves of Drach. At the bottom of the caves there is an underground lake and everyone sits in an auditorium in the dark, then you hear a violin playing and see a small light and a gondola slowly comes toward you. It really is beautiful.
The second time I went with my mother and niece. We got a late deal and stayed all inclusive in Magalluf/Palma Nova at the hotel Honolulu. We went in July and the weather was scorching but we all loved it. We arrived at about 3am and our coach had trouble approaching our hotel because of the busy nightlife in the area, which was just getting started by the way. The beach at Magalluf/Palma Nova was fantastic. It was quiet in the mornings though and it was not unusual to find people who had fallen asleep on the beach the night before. The beach did get busy in the afternoon but, because of its size, it didn't seem too crowded. There are many bars and nightclubs in Magalluf and lots of club promoting, i.e. being hassled by people to go to a certain club, bar etc but we tended to go for a stroll along the peaceful promenade in the evening and sit looking at the sea.
Both of my experiences of Majorca were totally different. I loved both sides. There is something for everyone and I would urge anyone travelling there to make the most of all of it, hire a car and see the real Majorca!

We propose some unforgettable holidays in "El Capistrano Villages", in Nerja, the privileged balcony of the Costa del Sol. "El Capistrano Villages" is, possibly, the most beautiful and exclusive Urbanisation on the Costa del Sol.
Advantages: Lots to do, plenty of space, very helpful staff and local restaurants Disadvantages: Food and drink pricey on site, can be noisy if accomodation facing onto main street
