Sepilok, a dream come true
Advantages: an unforgettable experience Disadvantages: bus loads of tourists crowding around shouting
...of effort to get to Sepilok it really is worth doing.Sandakan is very quiet, some excellent food stalls near the beach and some pretty clean cheap accommodation.A bus from the station leaves every day to the sanctuary very early so it is worth staying over in Sandakan the night before.Bus picks you up again back to the town at 4pm so you can spend the whole day there. This is much better than the tour load of buses you see arrive for just the feeding ... ...and macaques came very quickly to feed and were not scared by the snapping cameras-I have to say I was disappointed being surrounded by screaming children and shouting parents but I sat quietly and watched even after the bus tours left again. It was very entertaining and I could have sat and watched them for hours but we decided to go for a jungle trek in order to see more. This was something I do not think many people consider and it was the most ...

LANGAWAI - Diving experience of a lifetime
Advantages: Everything about the day - Activities, weather, food, atmoshphere... Disadvantages: Rocky boat ride to island
This was the first ever scuba dive, and i can tell you, it was one of the best experiences of my life! Langawai (i think thats how you spell it!) is a fairly large island just off the coast of Penang. If you go, take some sea sickness pills as the boat ride is very, um.., bumpy. Just off the coast of Langawai are many smaller islands. I went to one of these smaller islands, which was arranged by a small company. When we arrived, we boarded a floating ... ...the large selection of local foods, sunbathe, snorkel, take a glass-bottem boat ride, walk through the glass tunnels onder the sea, or, of course, scuba dive. The prices were very reasonable, but the best thing was that you with only 15mins preparation, you could go diving with all the gear - even if it was your first time. The staff are very friendly, english speakers who are always willing to help you out.
It is actually fairly simple, but you ...

Malaysian GP Preview
Advantages: Promises to be a great race Disadvantages: None
So after Australia's thrilling first installment in the 2003 championship race the next stop is Sepang, Malaysia.
Can DC and McLaren capatilse on their winning start? Will Raikkonen secure his madien victory? Can Michael Schumacher get back to his winning ways? How bad really is that Williams? Will Jenson tell Jacques to Button it?
Will the car in front of the rest be a Toyota?
Just so many questions to be answered, but one thing for sure this ... ...So what are going to be the main factors which could influence the outcome of Sunday's race? Well that obviously going to be the weather and tyres. The Sepang circuit is one which tends to generate alot of heat into the tyres with track temperatures getting nearer 50 degrees if the temperature is hot. This is going to benefit the Michelin runners, McLaren, Williams, Renault and Toyota as their tyres have traditionally performed better in the hot ...

Borneo, Borneo, Wherefore Art Thou, Borneo
Advantages: Unique wildlife experience Disadvantages: leaches
Borneo is a fairly large island, a bit larger than France, surrounded by the indonesian archipelago, Singapore, the Philippines and Malaysia. It is actually divided into four regions, two of which, in the north (Sarawak and Sabah) are governed by Malaysia, Brunei, a small independent sultanate completely enclosed by Sarawak, and in the south, the largest region is the Indonesian provinces of Kalimantan (East, South, West and Central Kalimantan). ... ...beauty and unique wildlife rapidly being destroyed by logging and palm-oil production. In September 2006 I visited the two Malaysian states, Sarawak and Sabah. To use the old cliche it really was the holiday of a lifetime (although I do try to have at least one holiday of a lifetime every year) I am a keen wildlife photographer and after having done various safaris and other wildlife watching adventures a primate expedition seemed like a good next ...

The Best Island In The World
Advantages: The whole experience of watching these amazing creatures Disadvantages: Late nights and early starts
...visited the Sepilok Rehabilitation Centre, Turtle Island and a local town in Malaysia.
Here I will review the Turtle Island Trip
About Turtle Island
Turtle Island is a conservation project for the beautiful Green Turtles. Basically this is a very remote island on which the Green Turtle lay their eggs all year round. People are only allowed to visit this island on organised trips and only a certain amount of people are allowed on the island at ... ...large 'hatcheries' in which the turtle eggs are buried to allow them time to hatch. Once the green turtle lays her eggs in the beach, the keepers remove them from their natural nest into a man made nest within the hatchery. The purpose of doing this is to protect the eggs from any predators. When left in their natural nest, the eggs are often dug up by predators such as the monitor lizards, rats etc and with turtles being endangered, they need to ...
