We visited the Hilton Longhouse whist on a package tour of Borneo. We stayed for 2 nights in May 2006. we wished we could have stayed longer Ciao says this is in kuching - its is about 4-6 hours drive for kuching (depending on the amount of stops you take) The hotel is set in the middle of a big lake - the hotel provides a boat, which transports across the lake to the hotel - which takes about 20mins. the water in the lake is lovely and clean and ...
...When you arrive on the island they are a few steps to climb - the hotel is amazing, designed as a Malay Longhouse. Rooms are basic but have everything you need, clean and well mantained. They are no views of the pool but at the front of our room was a fantastic view over the lake. As well as being able to book tours to the real longhouses and the jungle. Disadvantages: 45 mins from city centre

We visited the Holiday Inn Resort Damai Beach whist on a package tour of Borneo. We stayed for 4 nights in May 2006. The hotel is located about 45 mins from the city centre - they is a mini bus which we take you in to the city. It was our honeymoon and we were upgraded to a room that was 100 metres from the beach - it was a huge room - very clean - in the welcome booklet it said you could use the hotels electric mozzie device - I called the number and in no more than 5 mins later someone came running with the mozzie thing. ...really (as it should!), the Cititel Hotel is a marvelous, typical Malaysian four star hotel. It's a little out of place where it is on the island as most of the 'posh' hotels have beach access, but as this is aimed more towards the business centre of Georgetown than the beach-side, it kind of falls between the two stalls. However it's still typical Malaysian high quality at a reasonable price. Don't get me wrong the Hotel itself is an amazing place. ...
...My room was a double even though I paid for a single, the standard of cleanliness was faultless, the bed was soft but not horrible, the TV had a few english- speaking channels and the bathroom was a delight in Marble!!! All the rooms have stunning view whether it's of the town, the hills behind Georgetown or the harbour area. We went to this hotel in April 2008, as part of a last minute deal. Both myself and my partner thought this hotel was brilliant and would stay here again. The first thing that surprises you about the hotel is the fact that as you cross the threshold of the hotel, they hit a gong which I think is a traditional welcome. Instead of having to stand in line at the reception desk, you get shown to a seat in the lobby while a member of staff sorts everything ...

In the bathroom, you have the usual bath, shower, sink, toilet and towels. This resort is out of this world! It is like pulling up to a mini Las Vegas.Strings of neon lights,lots of people,restaurants,bars line the outside of it that is because this resort hotel is attached to a massive shopping complex, waterpark, ice rink.It actually has anything you can think of and is perfect for family, shoppers, people wanting relaxing time, nightlife and good food. It is excellent value for money, the rooms higher up than level 10 ...
...if you are staying longer(for business etc).The staff are very helpful and welcoming, they will know you by name within a week. The hotels restaurant has a buffet breakfast, dinner and lounge bar or you can keep walking straight through to an array of restaurants in the shopping mall. It is situated about 20minutes in a taxi into KL and the hotel can provide you a taxi immediately but you are actually better walking round to the front of the hotel ... Read review
