Banks and stamps but no station or airport!

Advantages: Quiet, peaceful, copious banks and stamp shops
Disadvantages: Not a throbbing metropolis, and pricey with it!

Taking the opportunity to travel to Liechtenstein as part of a few days holiday exploring Vorarlberg, Switzerland and Liechtenstein over the festive period, I chose to head to Vaduz, the capital of Liechtenstein ? a tiny principality that nestles among the Alps surrounded by Switzerland and Austria. Getting there was no easy matter ? Vaduz may be Liechtenstein?s capital, but it boasts neither a train station nor an airport. Fortunately the Liechtenstein Bus service (www.lba.li) took me from Feldkirch in Vorarlberg, through assorted villages to Vaduz, the capital. A day pass for the buses costs EUR 3.20 or CHF 5.00 ? the Swiss Franc (CHF) being the currency in use in Liechtenstein although many shops also accept Euro. To get to Vaduz I had to change buses in Schaan ? with the country?s only railway station (Schaan-Vaduz) being a stone ...

wii ski

Advantages: great family fun
Disadvantages: n/a

Wii is one of the greatest games consoles that I have ever purchased and I absolutely love all of the games that I have played on it to date. Wii Family Ski is a game that up to five people can play and requires the Wii Fit to be able to play. It took me a while to find the Wii Fit or as it is also known the balance board but I kept on searching and got there in the end. Wii Family Ski lets you create a character from scratch or you can import your Mii character too whilst selecting different ski gear for your character. You need to use the Nunchuck and Remote in your hands to use as ski poles and step on the Wii Board to really take advantage of this great game. The Wii Board takes over to allow the player to turn whilst skiing by measuring the swaying and leaning of the body. In Family Ski, there are 14 different slopes to ...

The scary slopes of the Sheffield Ski Village!

Advantages: Good fun
Disadvantages: Quite expensive

where the slopes are visible and it is certainly very entertaining watching the skiers fly by. There is also an outdoor terrace area with seating that has excellent views of the same slopes and I would imagine that this would be a great place to view from during the summer when the weather is nice. There are various different slopes here. The main slope is reserved for the more experienced skiers and it is on this slope that my friends can usually be found. For the more experienced skiers there is a half pipe and a quarter pipe and several jumps. All of this looked quite scary for a novice like me but it is certainly good fun to watch. In addition to the people skiing in these more advanced areas of the ski centre there are also quite a few people on snowboards too. For the beginners and less experienced visitors there are two ...
