I loved Crete so much and really enjoyed the sights etc. I am big into my nights out and was dying for the night life. However I thought it was very rough. I avoided Malia most nights and went to neighbouring towns etc. Early in the morning if you walk down the strip there is nothing but broken glass and various drunk people passed out on foot paths. I did the Malia night life for one or two nights and enjoyed it but that was enough for me. We spoke to a lot of the locals who told us that Malia has been ruined by this. Our apartments had security to keep the noise down which was great. I would go back to Crete but not back to Malia. In our apartments there were two people, one female and one male who were both attacked on the strip. The male was attacked by bouncers. I was actually a bit nervous the nights that I did go out there and I'm a strong woman who doesn't take crap so that's saying a lot!
