***This is a review only of the Spa facilities at MalmaisonNewcastle, which can be used by hotel guests or visitors. As we did not stay overnight here, I cannot comment on the rest of the hotel, though everything we say and experienced was exquisite, and I would definately stay at one of their sister hotels if I am travelling away from Newcastle***
Having recently suffered from a bout of depression that left me feeling pretty rough, I decided to treat myself and my best friend to an afternoon being pampered at Newcastle's Malmaison. Their Petite Spa had just been refurbished, and so I decided this was the place to go. My friend flew up from London and we had lunch on Newcastle's Quay-Side, visited The Baltic Art Gallery, and headed over to Malmaison for our 5pm appointment.

I have now stayed at 3 of the Malmaisonhotels (Oxford, Edinburgh and Manchester) - and each have been so very spectacular. The staff are always so very friendly and welcoming. Nothing is too much of an effort.
The rooms are quite modern and spacious. The beds are so very comfortable. The bathrooms are always really nice as well.
The thing I like most about the Malmaisonhotels is that they all offer a consistently high standard, whilst maintaining an individualistic touch - often in line with the area or features of the buildings.
Their bars are always very welcoming - even if travelling by oneself. Not at all like other typical hotel bars. I don't normally ever drink in the hotel bars - but nearly always do at the Malmaison.
I also don't typically eat at the hotel restaurant or order room service - but I definitely do ...

One a recent trip too Newcastle , i needed someplace to stay and this hotel looked good.

Perfect Location for myself as I arrived into Newcastle by Train and your turn right at the train station and your there , no taxi needed.
+ First look +
The hotel reception area is very nice , with this amazing light ficture which is so sparkly. The rception staff are very friendlly aswel. It looks very nice for a 3 star hotel , i would give it 4 easy!
+ The room +
Nice room , spacious and they gave me free water and a biscuit , nice touch. There was a en -suite bathroom and a view. There was also room service option.

this hotel had a swimming pool , which i never used but it's allways good to have. you had to pay for breakfast seperate which was pricey so i just went to the greggs ...
