The exciting first weekend away with my new lovely boyfriend, where did we go? Up to Manchester, staying in the Malmaison hotel in Piccadilly, Manchester city centre. A good location for the shops and nightlife.
It is a stunning looking hotel both externally and internally. Extremely modern and eye-catching. Inside the décor is quite gothic in taste, but in a sexy, french style. Black marble, red and purple fabrics and features.
The double standard room we stayed in was large and the bed was even bigger! It had all of the usual bits and bobs, but also includes a massively stocked minibar with several bottles of Malmaison own wine, chocolate and jelly beans! A smart little CD player was a great extra too.
The bar had great snack food and seductive cocktails and friendly staff. We didn’t experience the in-house restaurant but in general the staff and services were all to a high standard and all had a little bit extra that was really noticeable and made our stay more special.

Advantages: Excellent night time security, & great appearance. Very conveniently located. Disadvantages: Staff werent as friendly as expected - and made you feel like you were troubling them!
