May I apologise for the many typo errors in my first three comments as a member. I got overexcited about the site its my dream to be a hotel and restaurant critic. As you will find out I'm pretty hard to please a high maintenance kind of lady!

For years I had wanted to stay at a Malmaion hotel lured by its supposed uniqueness eg Bang and Oufsen in each room. I had my chance when Last Minute dot com had rooms without breakfast for a bargain £50 a night.
The first issue is parking you have to pay to park in the next door NCP however the location makes up for this. Our room was small and a little worn and dusty I marvelled at the half bottle of red wine on the dressing table until I realised it cost £12.50 a bottle! The room had a stereo JVC not quite B & O yet still a nice feature but the hotel charges for use of the advertised cd library.
My sister and boyfriend arrived to find a nasty stain on their pillowcase in their room. In addition their credit card was charged for the entire contents of the mini bar following their stay (which they had not used).
Staff were snotty and I was very unhappy that upon departure they immediately read the comments card I handed in in whilst I walked out of the hotel. Despite my concerns about the hotel I did not hear back from the management so much for customer feedback! I have heard Liberty was trying to sell teh cahin at the time I stayed there so this may have affected standards?
Whilst I can't complain too much in view of teh cheap price I wouldn't choose Malmaison over any other hotel chain depsite the hype I've heard the one is Glasgow is more luxurious however.

Thanks for the warning - was looking for something a bit more upmarket in Manchester than my usual style and this outlet caught my eye - will save my money.

Advantages: Excellent night time security, & great appearance. Very conveniently located. Disadvantages: Staff werent as friendly as expected - and made you feel like you were troubling them!
