I have now stayed at 3 of the Malmaisonhotels (Oxford, Edinburgh and Manchester) - and each have been so very spectacular. The staff are always so very friendly and welcoming. Nothing is too much of an effort.
The rooms are quite modern and spacious. The beds are so very comfortable. The bathrooms are always really nice as well.
The thing I like most about the Malmaison hotels is that they all offer a consistently high standard, whilst maintaining an individualistic touch - often in line with the area or features of the buildings.
Their bars are always very welcoming - even if travelling by oneself. Not at all like other typical hotel bars. I don't normally ever drink in the hotel bars - but nearly always do at the Malmaison.
I also don't typically eat at the hotel restaurant or order room service - but I definitely do at Malmaisons. The restaurant food is delicious, huge, very reasonably priced and consistent across all of the hotels. I love the Malmaison Burger - definitely the best I have ever tasted. And it is great that the full restaurant menu is available as room service.
It is also a great touch to have the free internet in the room.
The Malmaison Oxford has converted the old jail so wonderfully. It maintains all the wonderful features of the buildings, whilst also making it a wonderful and modern hotel. Can't wait to stay at a Malmaison hotel again!

Have been looking to book this hotel as a treat for my husband and myself (the Oxford Malmaison). Would be helpful for more info on this particular hotel as the review was pretty generalised towards all Malmaison hotels. Reading other reviews on other websites - this hotel gets a big thumbs up from all reviewers. Must try it soon!! Keep dropping hints to husband!!

I have never stayed at one, although I have wanted to on many occasions. Working for a different group meant I could not justify the cost though!
