Advantages: beautiful views, dolphins, water sports Disadvantages: people, expensive prices
We went to Malta with my friends last year. The main reason was possiblity to swim with dolphins. There is not to many places in Europe where you can touch them and kiss them :) Malta is beautiful island, every beach is different and there is something else to see every day (a week is not really enough). Water is clear and warm so it's perfect place for diving. A lot of colour fishes and other creatures. High temperatures till end of September. Malta ... ...for all inclusive holidays. Malta is also lovely place for water sports and if you like it won't cost a fortune. Paragliding, speed boats, jet ski nad many more. I just want to warn others of the Malta's local people. They are greedy and cheating on you. Especially with car rental. We had rent an automatic car. It looks like they have some people which only waiting for this occasion. When my boyfriend has forgot his beach towel and went back to our ...

Siege Mentality
Advantages: Dramatically situated, historic, atmospheric Disadvantages: Few places to stay within the city; not cheap
As the capital cities of Europe go, Valletta is a rather recent invention. It was founded in 1566, and built in a hurry, as if to make up for lost time. For perhaps the oddest thing about Valletta is that there wasn't a city on its site before.
A glance at a map shows the strategic importance of the island of Malta. It sits amid the narrows between the eastern and western Mediterranean, so that any shipping going from one to the other must pass ... ...shortest route between northern Africa and southern Italy. Malta is a natural location for a naval base, and has a natural harbour to serve just that purpose. Or rather it has two in close proximity, known respectively as Marsamxett Harbour and the Grand Harbour. Viewed on the map, as if in cross-section, they resemble nothing more than the top and bottom of a gaping mouth, with a tongue sticking out between them. The tongue is a hilly peninsula ...

Sunny, fun islands of Malta
Advantages: Great comunity and friendly locals Disadvantages: Very quiet and the roads are easy to get lost on- trust me i know!!
...also visit the other main Maltese islands, Comino and Gozo. Though they are beautiful islands with beautiful scenery I do recommend bringing a road map if you are renting a car! On of the best times to go to these islands is during the time of Easter as their are fabulous parades held and there is a great atmosphere all around the island! There are also so fabulous restaurants and places to eat out. One of the main things I recommend is their cheese ... ...highly recommend Malta as a holiday destination! Money and Malta.
Advantages: Beautiful scenery. Disadvantages: Very hilly.
St. Pauls Bay-is a veritable honey pot of delight.
The streets are narrow and poorly maintained in places. A good deal of one way road systems., and limited parking if you are making your own way around. Parking is "street-side. Boxes are allocated , but watch out for bay restrictions and bus stops . Haveing fallen foul of both and smiling when fined , they are to be respected! Yes I smiled when paying my fine. Why?- you may ask. Simple - It cost ... ...car you hire. St. Paul's bay has much to offer. There are several good hotels , with varied standards . The average star rating being three in tourists guides. The hotels in variably offer full board or half board. Air conditioning a must in the climate may or may not be available. Room srevice is in my experiance good. From cleanliness to the change of linen and towels. Rates of pay in Malta are poor compared to some holiday rwesorts so be mindful ...

Malta - Love it or Hate it?
Advantages: Fairly low prices to eat and drink, reasonably priced hotel accommodation, friendly people Disadvantages: Lots of hotels are being turned into private schools/colleges. Has a tendency to look scruffy.
We have visited Malta for the last 4yrs for 1 week each February, always staying in the Bugibba area. Whilst I can't say I hate it - neither can I say I love it either... As far as value for money goes, it's slightly cheaper to eat and drink than Cyprus, which is where I now live. Hotel accommodation is very reasonably priced for the mid range 3 to 4 star and older hotels. Newer, modern hotels are more expensive and rightly so, as they are far superior ... ...have been clean and comfortable. We prefer Qawra end of Bugibba as there is more going on and is more compact. However, Sliema is a favourite resort as you can look across the water to Valetta and take a short hop across by water taxi. We also really like St Julians area too. We've visited Mdina (the Silent City), Mosta, Valetta and hope soon to take trip to Gozo as I haven't been there for about 10yrs now. It would be good to see it again. We would ...
