A Very Good Base For Exploring Malta
Advantages: Good facilites, reasonable price, rooftop pool. Disadvantages: A ten minute walk from the sea front
We stayed at the three-star Sunflower Hotel in Qawra for a week in July and, for the most part, I had no complaints. The hotel was in a good location, had great facilities for its class and was comfortable and suited our needs. We booked it as part of a package with Cosmos and arrived on a Saturday evening. It was dark, so we hadn't really any concept of where we were or anything, but first impressions were pretty good. -
From the outside, the hotel ... ...either side of the main glass doors. First impressions are obviously very important to the hotel as there was someone out here every day making sure the area is clean and tidy, something I took to be a promising sign. -
The hotel itself is in residential area in Qawra, although it's only a five or ten minute walk (downhill) to Bugibba sea front and the same in the other direction to the main bus station. I've read other people complaining about ...

A good all-inclusive hotel in an excellent location
Advantages: Outstanding food, good rooms and good service Disadvantages: Lift doors can hurt, pizzas are poor, no room service and a timeshare rotwieller
...all inclusive stay in the Fortina Spa Resort (5* opened in 2006) and included Club Class return travel with either BA or Air Malta, with Malta transfers and a 2 hour harbour cruise, at a cost of £900 each. Air Malta (Heathrow Terminal 4) provided an outstanding service on both outbound and return sectors - far better than BA! We booked a superior harbour view room and were allocated one on the tower's 4th floor facing Pieta and Marsamxett harbours ... ...also be used in the Fortina hotel bars next door. All drinks are included except aged whiskies and XO Brandy and the like and the cocktail menu is very comprehensive and served by friendly bar staff. There is good live music in the bar area; sadly the piano and musicians are almost hidden from the Limes bar lounge, which has very little character and loads of bar stools, which make it difficult to get to the bar and order drinks. Evening meals have ...

Plaza Regency Hotel in Sliema in central position
Advantages: Easy access to public transport and sea front promenade Disadvantages: cramped and slow lifts
The Plaza Regency hotel, Sliema is situated at 251 Tower Road, or as the local street signs put it Triq it-Torri. It is seperated from its sister hotel The Plaza, by a road Triq San Frangisk. The two hotel are connected together by a bridge six floors above the street. This sounds weird but works quite well. The two hotels share a dining room which is on the sixth floor of the Plaza, and share a swimming pool which is on the roof (seventh floor) ... ...and I had (in the Plaza Regency) was of a decent size and was clean and tidy. Our room had a balcony overlooking Tower Road, on the other side of which is a cafe and then the sea, with a good view of St Julians Bay.. Not all rooms have a balcony however, and I heard one guest , who was in a single room, saying that he had no windows in his room.
The food in the dining room in the dining room was varied, there being three main meat choices, different ...

Excellent service
Advantages: Excellent food, very clean, friendly staff Disadvantages: It's situated on a hill - not good if you're disabled.
...my family stayed at the Coastline in December 2006 because we got an upgrade over Christmas as Bugibba Holiday Complex was not available. I have to say I was amazed at the difference between the two hotels. We got a great service at the Bugibba, but it was fantastic at the Coastline, although I have to say the room we got was smaller than I'm used to as we normally stay in apartment rooms with kitchenettes. However, the food was glorious and the ... ...my tray and got new drinks for me and even carried the tray to my room for me! In all, the Coastline definitely deserves its 4* rating as it is an absolute delight to go to and when I have enough money I will definitely be going there again! ...

The Pergola Hotel, Malta Review
Advantages: Cheap, good quality rooms, very close to the local amenities, wireless available Disadvantages: None
We stayed at the pergola hotel in Mellieha for a week from the 17th august for a week, the views from the hotel are amazing, they have two swimming pools, one is indoor and heated, whereas the other is outdoor and not heated, however the weather in malta when we were out there was over 100 at some times, so no need for the heater. Near the outdoor pool there is a bar area which is themed to be located inside the opening to a cave, there is also a ... ...When we entered the pergola we initially thought that the rooms would be great because reception looks so good. We got there earlier than we had expected so the rooms weren't ready so we were told to go and have a drink or something for an hour, when we came back our room was ready, however it was much larger, our rooms was suppose to be a one bedroom apartment costing 80 pounds a night, however we were in a two bedroom studio, costing 150 per night, ...
