Topaz hotel Malta Advantages: Fantastic relaxing holiday Disadvantages: noisy students in the hotel! ...family and i visited the Topaz hotel early june for 14 nights. Excellent service Advantages: Excellent food, very clean, friendly staff Disadvantages: It's situated on a hill - not good if you're disabled. ...my family stayed at the Coastline in December 2006 because we got an upgrade over Christmas as Bugibba Holiday Complex was not available. I have to say I was amazed at the difference between the two hotels. We got a great service at the Bugibba, but it was fantastic at the Coastline, although I have to say the room we got was smaller than I'm used to as we normally stay in apartment rooms with kitchenettes. However, the food was glorious and the ... ...my tray and got new drinks for me and even carried the tray to my room for me! RIU Seabank, Mellieha Bay, Malta Advantages: Next To The Beach Disadvantages: Very expensive bar, expensive phone calls and rude locals ...week long stay was the RIU Seabank. As a worldwide chain I trusted the travel agent in this recommondation. In my opinion any one due to book or is thinking of booking at this hotel should read on as this hotel may not be for everyone. LOCATION The Riu Seabank is situated in Mellieha Bay, 3km downhill from Mellieha Village. Situated at the bottom of a steep hill, it is a long and tiring walk to the top if you are infirm or have children,when ... ...reach the very top. If you do not want to be tied to the hotel on an evening then this would not be the hotel for you, the local buses do terminate at 9pm and the only other method of transport is a taxi which are extremely expensive. There are only two other bars and restaurants within walking distance from the hotel and no supermarket ( besides the one in the hotel which is not cheap!!!). Aparthotel 115 - A Surprising Success Advantages: Clean, comfortable, reasonable location, excellent value Disadvantages: Erratic standard of service, need to take care in tiny kitchen ...we took a chance with Aparthotel Strand 115 in the resort of Sliema which is directly across the water from the Maltese capital, Valletta (the water taxi docks nearby and gets you to Valletta in less than three minutes for less than €1 per person!). As well as checking internet reviews, we also looked at the hotels own website which looked very professional and quite upmarket. The rooms looked to be very pleasant, though, of course, clever photography ... ...of booking options from room only or room and breakfast, through to studio or studio with breakfast. We picked studio only so that we could make our own breakfast and save some money. We decided against paying the extra charge for a sea view even though some reviews suggested the alternative was quite grim. A Very Good Base For Exploring Malta Advantages: Good facilites, reasonable price, rooftop pool. Disadvantages: A ten minute walk from the sea front We stayed at the three-star Sunflower Hotel in Qawra for a week in July and, for the most part, I had no complaints. The hotel was in a good location, had great facilities for its class and was comfortable and suited our needs. We booked it as part of a package with Cosmos and arrived on a Saturday evening. It was dark, so we hadn't really any concept of where we were or anything, but first impressions were pretty good. - From the outside, the hotel ... ...either side of the main glass doors.
