Isolated Radisson SAS Golden Sands Malta
Advantages: New, Spacious Disadvantages: Out of the way, expensive, no facilities
...from a week in the Radisson Golden Sands Hotel (October 2007). The Hotel and Rooms are clean and spacious, however beds especially the sofa beds are every uncomfortable. The food is very expensive and unfortunately is nothing special. Good view overlooking the small beach, and good outdoor swimming pools. Bring your walking boots as the hotel is miles from anywhere. There are no shopping facilities apart from a small gift store, a jewellery store, ... ...Overall comments and experience, overrated, overpriced, not a 5*, out of the way, and no facilities. NB: Beware the timeshare reps as they are out to get you. We also experience very bad weather for the week, cold, wet, and very windy and this might have also tainted our view. ...

Quara Palace ???
Advantages: Suntrap Pool area Disadvantages: Not much near hotel
it was a cheap deal for one week half board we paid £750 for 4 adults. It was catered more for older people who like to wait for everything. The lift situation was a nightmare. My mum thought it was excellent but she hadn't had a holiday in 15years.
The hotel is basic but clean. My mum did have burst pipes in her room and faulty air con but things like that are expected. The staff were helpful. The food was the same most days. I chose not to eat ... ...ate there and said the food was OK. They even found alternatives for my daughter who is allergic to milk. It was mainly sausage or ham and chips but at least it was food. There is a cafe open very late till 3am which had fantastic coffee. The hotel is very close to the sea but no beach, Malta only has a few beaches but they were making a beach in buggibba last year. Its best to get a bus if you want to see anything of Malta. ...

A big disappointment!
Advantages: Excellent location. Disadvantages: Just about everything else.
I stayed at the Europa Hotel for five nights in August of 2007 with two others. Here is a summary of our experience:
1. The location of the hotel cannot be faulted - a bus stop, children's playground, supermarket and a host of eateries and bars are all near by. Besides, Sliema is one of the best places to stay on the island, if not THE best.
2. The hotel in general, and the rooms in particular, were not as comfortable or modern as the photographs ... ...the pictures suggest that the Europa is something much more than it really is. It was a real shock to discover just how far the reality deviated from the hype.
3. I specifically booked a five person room, through a popular hotel booking website, because it was only marginally more expensive than a double, and because we wanted to enjoy the extra space. However, when we checked in, we were told that, as there were only three of us, we would only ...

A Very Good Base For Exploring Malta
Advantages: Good facilites, reasonable price, rooftop pool. Disadvantages: A ten minute walk from the sea front
We stayed at the three-star Sunflower Hotel in Qawra for a week in July and, for the most part, I had no complaints. The hotel was in a good location, had great facilities for its class and was comfortable and suited our needs. We booked it as part of a package with Cosmos and arrived on a Saturday evening. It was dark, so we hadn't really any concept of where we were or anything, but first impressions were pretty good. -
From the outside, the hotel ... ...either side of the main glass doors. First impressions are obviously very important to the hotel as there was someone out here every day making sure the area is clean and tidy, something I took to be a promising sign. -
The hotel itself is in residential area in Qawra, although it's only a five or ten minute walk (downhill) to Bugibba sea front and the same in the other direction to the main bus station. I've read other people complaining about ...

A good all-inclusive hotel in an excellent location
Advantages: Outstanding food, good rooms and good service Disadvantages: Lift doors can hurt, pizzas are poor, no room service and a timeshare rotwieller
...all inclusive stay in the Fortina Spa Resort (5* opened in 2006) and included Club Class return travel with either BA or Air Malta, with Malta transfers and a 2 hour harbour cruise, at a cost of £900 each. Air Malta (Heathrow Terminal 4) provided an outstanding service on both outbound and return sectors - far better than BA! We booked a superior harbour view room and were allocated one on the tower's 4th floor facing Pieta and Marsamxett harbours ... ...also be used in the Fortina hotel bars next door. All drinks are included except aged whiskies and XO Brandy and the like and the cocktail menu is very comprehensive and served by friendly bar staff. There is good live music in the bar area; sadly the piano and musicians are almost hidden from the Limes bar lounge, which has very little character and loads of bar stools, which make it difficult to get to the bar and order drinks. Evening meals have ...
