Inside the Theatre of Dreams
Advantages: An attraction full of history, enthusiastic and informed tour guides, not expensive Disadvantages: I can't think of any, but if you support Manchester City you may disagree ;-)
...I was only four years old at the time, but from that day forward if anyone asked me what football team I supported, the answer was “Manchester United” – which was unusual for a kid back then – especially a kid who lived just outside Glasgow. My dad however was happy with this choice –he was a Clyde FC supporter and wasn’t particularly keen on the sectarian connotations supporting Rangers or Celtic brought – and the fact that he too had a sneaking ... ...see Manchester United play at Old Trafford, and I remember my father saying he would take me, but the logistics were never quite right, and it is to my eternal regret that we never did this. In fact I only ever went to the football with my dad once – to see QPR play Newcastle at Loftus Road, with my QPR supporting husband in tow. But You’ve Never Been to Manchester By the start of the nineties, Manchester United were coming out of the doldrums. ...

No longer in the skies, but still high up in my estimation
Advantages: Interesting for all ages, indoors, accessible for all knowledge levels Disadvantages: Not suitable for those with mobility issues, can book up quickly
...I think that Concorde captures the imagination of most people as a majestic spectical and patriotic symbol. And if this isn't the case - this tour would probably change people's minds. The area has recently been upgraded to protect Concorde from the elements, which also enhances the visitor experience in a comfortable secure environment. You arrive at the attraction via the "Concorde Departure lounge" and are seated for a short introductory film ... ...do's and dont's whilst on board. We had been treated to the "General Tour", which is one option compared to the more in depth "Technical Tour". The main difference being an extended view of the flight deck and more engineering-minded data and presentation. On viewing the video you are lead straight to the aircraft, and up the steps to the flight deck. On this occasion, the party consisted of myself and my wife and no one else, usual group size is ...

Get a City Card if you live in Manchester
Advantages: Great product, easy to use and good value for money Disadvantages: only usable in Manchester
...to find out about the City Card scheme from a work mate. We were meeting clients for lunch in the city centre, and he passed me the City Card membership guide and asked me to book a restaurant of my choice from the list.
When I asked him what it was all about he revealed that you use the City Card to get discounts at restaurants around the city. Upon further investigation on the website I noticed that there were many other benefits included in the ... ...have several meals booked at City Card restaurants so this I'm sure will make us some more good savings. So far I reckon we have used it about 4 different restaurants and through these saved around £55-60. So far in around 4 months the card has saved us around £200.
In terms of it's function, the card seems very simple to use. Each of the places we have used the card seem to recognise it straight away. Some do require you to pre-book and mention ...

Back to basics!
Advantages: It has buses and trams in one place Disadvantages: Not many at allfacilities
...available! I did use the Altrincham bus station a lot more when I was younger and actually working in Altrincham but, to be fair there isn't much difference nowadays from nearly 7 years ago!
Location:
The station is located just off the main road which is Stamford New road and it is this main road that the majority of the shops are behind. The station is very easy to find and right in front of it is a taxi rank and also a clock tower. The station:
... ...in with the fact that Altrincham itself is a smallish town centre. The station has two main 'tunnels' as I call them with the larger of the two having about eight stops and the smaller about five. Located behind the larger tunnel is the entrance to the tram stop where the information desk is and directly behind this is the tram stop itself. Buses and trams:
There are plenty of buses that stop here that have travelled from surrounding areas - probably ...

Manchester by foot, bus, tram...
Advantages: It's easy, and if you get the right thing, it's free! Disadvantages: Maybe a little confusing...
...less of a risk of getting run over. It's so busy round here, but everything is pretty much within walkign distance. You have the Arndale center with it's bustling Market Street just outside, then across the road there's the big Marks and Spencers, and then the posh street with Harvey Nichols on. St Anne's Square as well, where we have lots of street acts during the summer as well as lots of other shops: Waterstones, Past Times, all within walking ... ...novel and quick way of getting into Manchester for me. Currently this system operates from Bury in North Manchester to Altringham in the South, as well as Eccles which is slightly to the side (I forget which way). These cover the more out of town busy places such as Salford Quays, Old Trafford, and Bury's World Famous Market! They even have buses arranged near one of the Trafford stops to shuttle you to the Trafford Center! Now, this method of travel ...
