Bargain Rooms in a Fab Location
Advantages: Great location, cheap parking, great price Disadvantages: No luxuries, all the extras cost a lot
...not a lot, but the Travelodge make no pretence about this being the reason why their prices are so low. They give you a room from 3pm to midday the following day and you can pay for any extras you want, including earlier check-in (£10), later check-out (£10), breakfast (£5.99 online or £7.50 at check-in, per person). We didn't take any of these options, so can't comment on the value for money, but considering there are so many places to eat in the ... ...though. Like I said, the Travelodge keeps their prices low by removing all the 'frills', so don't expect to find toiletries (other than one mini bar of soap), a hair-dryer, an iron or even a phone! We were also only supplied with one hand towel and one bath towel, so I would recommend asking for another at reception when you check-in to avoid problems when you get out of the shower and find nothing to dry yourself with! You can ask at reception as ...

The Greatstone Hotel fantastic value for money
Advantages: fantastic value £20 all rooms ( no extras) perfect location Disadvantages: No En- Suites In the middle of refurbishment
Having recently stayed at this hotel in Stretford Manchester I was lucky to get a room as the hotel is full most nights. Although the room I occupied was not en-suite it fulfilled my needs for a one night stay. The room was immaculate though small.
It was spotlessly clean with obviously new decor, fittings and flat screen T.V. There were no tea facilities in the room but as much coffee and tea as I needed provided for free. The hotel was so convenient ... ...walk away. A nice little bar and large car parking facilities (free to guests) was just what I needed. In my oppinion where else could I stay for £20 . After reading past reviews that were not very good, I can honestley say that I was very pleasantly
surprised and would stay here again. ...

Greatstone Hotel Stretford - value for money
Advantages: Location and cellar bar. Cost Disadvantages: It's not the Ritz!!!! [but it's not £200 per night either!
I came across this hotel looking on the Man Utd. site. Fantastic location [3 mins from the ground and 5 mins from Lancashire Cricket. Booked for 2 night s with three friends. This is not a luxury hotel and neither would you expect it to be for £22 per night. However it has been refurbished [ongoing] and is clean, welcoming , warm and friendly. `The jewel in the crown' is a fantastic cellar bar which was open before the match. It is a Pandora's box- ... ...United memorabilia. We couldn't believe that we had never heard of it. Saturday evening was spent in Manchester - ok if you like pushing your way through crowds of young drunken people but we don't! We arrived back at midnight - ready for an early night and were stunned to discover a fantastic [apparently one of the best in the country!] Northern Soul Club- cheap drinks- on till 2 am- brilliant music and a . great crowd. WHAT A NIGHT! We will certainly ...

Would love to have reviewed further but read on......
Advantages: Good lcoation if you like getting drunk & noisy wearing your underwear in public. Disadvantages: Everything else.
...imagine I would have got much (if any) sleep. Sister hotel deserves another review of its own but I wouldn't recommend the Britannia Hotel chain to anyone - not even my worst enemy to be honest, not based on this weekend. * Specific criteria based on sister hotel. ...

Don't waste your £ on the luxury rooms - Crowne Plaza Manchester
Advantages: Location. New and modern Disadvantages: Awful club level package. Decor not to everyones taste.
...the special offers available from Crowne Plaza. As a treat for myself and the other half, I decided we would go to Manchester for the weekend. It is a city I haven’t really explored much before and thought it would be a good weekend trip. I had seen the newly opened Crowne Plaza on this years Apprentice and the hotel and rooms looked very modern and stylish and when I saw the promotional prices I thought why the hell not and off we went. Booking ... ...variety of privileges. Those at Crowne Plaza included, *Access to the club lounge where complimentary continental breakfast and evening drinks would be available. *Full soft drinks service all day. *Small selection of magazines and newspapers. *Access to two computers for the internet etc. The club level rooms cost an extra £20 per night and I can honestly say they were not worth it in the slightest. This was without a doubt the worst club level ...
