On October 18th 2001 heaven opens it doors to the living for the very first time. Don’t even begin to tell me that you don’t want something for nothing or something for less at the very least! You wouldn’t have signed up to Ciao otherwise, or would you?

The mall is just a small (but highly significant!) part of an expansive development including the Lowry theatre, offices, 4 hotels and luxury appartments. The development boasts a health club, an array of restaurants a Warner Village Multiplex Cinema and.. upwards of 80 shops featuring well-known brands.
Ok lets start with the shops and then we’ll get down to another hobby of mine – Food!!
Shops: From day one, Manchester Outlet Mall will have to compete with its older neighbour, Cheshire Oaks at Ellesmere Port. The Manchester Outlet Mall aims to corner the market in the sale of end of the line/ last season’s clothing, giving us up to a 70% discount. I don’t have a confirmed list of all the stores yet, but here is are a few of those that I know you will find:

Restaurants: The Mall will of course include an area for the glutton – a huge food court incorporating Lime (first rate food and drinks, from canapés to a multi-course pig-out), Harry Ramsden's, McDonalds, Fancs (French Cuisine), Yang Sing, Pizza Express, Burger King, Costa Coffee. If you hate shopping and get dragged along, you will be pleased to know that the food court is open until midnight every day.
Location, Location, Location: Manchester Outlet Mall is based at the heart of the Salford Quays development (Where Mike Baldwin lives), just one and half miles from Manchester city centre and around the metaphorical corner from Old Trafford (for the uninitiated, this is Manchester United’s home ground). To get there from the M60 you need to take junction 12 for the M602, Salford Quays is a quarter of a mile from Junction 3.
The Manchester Mall is such a high profile project and as such it is essential to Manchester’s economy, I wish it every success. Despite all the razzmatazz surrounding the creation of this shopper’s Mecca, there is one “truth that we hold to be self evident” - there will never be enough parking available!
Advantages: Location, variety of shops Disadvantages: It overlooks Old Trafford!
The new Manchester outlet shopping mall is due to open in October. It is situated immediately next to the new Lowry Centre on Salford Quays and is expected to be Manchester's answer to Cheshire Oaks at Ellesmere Port. The mall will have upwards of 150 outlets and the likes of M&S and Boots will ensure a high profile. There will be a 7 screen Warner Cinema, a food-court with the likes of Harry Ramsdens, Yang Sing and all the other usual suspects, ...
