Not as high as a 42

Advantages: fair drink prices, vending machine, very clean
Disadvantages: samey music, can get quite busy, not enough seating

...I wanted to go to 42nd Street and I had always heard good things so I decided to head on down. Its situated on bootle St in deansgate just off the main road. The entrance is plainly just a door with the flatboars sign with the 42nd street logo so if you didnt know what youwas looking for it could be pretty hard to find. The club is upstairs of the building so there are a few stairs and therefore not really suitable for those in a wheelchair or difficulties ...
...that bad, I paid £4 after 10:30pm with an NUS card which is about the same as 5th Avenue and other clubs. The dancefloor is located in the middle of the room between two bars and lit up with UV lights and some disco so its quite dark but you're still able to see. The bar provides a selection of drinks, mostly bottles so you cant' have a full pint of strongbow like i requuested and the prices aren't that bad. About £1.50 for an alcopop and £1.90 for ...

Night and Day - you have to go twice!

Advantages: Not tied to a chain, good food, good beer, good live venue
Disadvantages: BAr closed when gigs are on, dangerous steps to loos when you've had a few

...quirky venue such as the Night and Day Café in Manchester - a little independent place that serves what it likes and isn’t another faceless chain venue. My first visit was in November when I went down to Manchester to see Jesse Malin play (check him out - he is the best!); he was in England for two low key gigs to start promoting his third solo album, the Manchester show was the closest for me. We telephoned to enquire about tickets and were referred ...
...a strong following. The Night and Day Café is exactly that; it opens at 10.00 in the morning for breakfast, carries on through lunch and acts as a café-pub, later on as people leave work it becomes a place for the arty, studenty types to catch a quick drink and around eight it becomes a venue for live music. The play list is predominantly indie rock with some dance nights too. It is located on Oldham Street in the very heart of Manchester and just ...

Numero Uno Coffee Shop?

Advantages: Great atmosphere, friendly service, tasty drinks and a range of snacks
Disadvantages: Could be a tad expencive if you make a trip there on a regular basis

...rest your feet and relax. Caffe Nero is my favourite pick of the bunch so far as I have always had good service there and never had any problems over cold tea or soggy cake! -...:: General ::...- Caffe Nero was founded in 1997 and has since then become more and more popular with branches is various UK locations. It has won awards for 'Best Coffee House' and focusses its philosophy around 'coffee and atmosphere'. I personally am not a coffee drinker, ...
...always had good service at Caffe Nero - the staff always seem to friendly, happy and helpful which gives the place a great atmosphere. The decor is tasteful and clean; I've never been to a Nero that's felt tatty or dirty in any way. Since the smoking ban, I like to take my hot chocolate outside so I can have it with a cigarette. Lots of branches offer a few tables and chairs undercover out the front of the store, and the drinks are available to take ...

the slag of net cafes

Advantages: Good, easy to use, cheap.
Disadvantages: Incredibly bad music

...is I'm reviewing. Right, so, easy everything is: An internet cafe, essentially. Roughly 400 computers, several vending machines and a small cafe, all packed into a space that remains feeling light and airy. Service is good, with all purchasing of webtime automated, so none of that annoying queueing up... The web connection is super fast, faster than my own cable modem at home, which is fairly fast in itself. The computers are all fairly high end ...
...say this* terrible. Luckily, it's easy to ignore, so I'm ok with that. Not really alot more to say. General summation: cheap and cheerful, a little bit like this Op, I'm afraid. Good to kill time, as multiple log on tickets mean you don't have to use your entire time at once. Oh, and bad point which I've just spotted: no facility for saving to disk, so any transfer of files (for instance CVs/photos - something they pride themselves on letting you ...

Stylish setting for affordable food

Advantages: Affordable , great pizza, fresh ingredients
Disadvantages: Gets crowded at weekends

...sell at chain restaurants. But Croma is rather different. Started as an independent eaterie by two former Pizza Express franchisees some years ago, its success has spawned several more in the Manchester area. The HQ, on Kennedy Street opposite Manchester Town Hall, remains the business.. On three levels, its clean lines, tiles and stylish bar provide a backdrop of style and luxury. But the good news is its affordability. The basic margherita is ...
...tuck in with glee. Croma started the trend for pizzas with unuusal additions like tandoori chicken and egg and bacon but still has the staples beloved of traditionalists like Napoli packed with olives and anchovies and Fiorentina with egg and spinach and American Hot with peperoni. Extra ingredients like hot peppers can be added for a pound or so more. All the pizzas are thin and crispy, and are served promptly and with courtesy - side dishes like ...
