My Choice. Will you make it yours?
Advantages: Great food freshly prepared from local ingredients Disadvantages: None if you live in Manchester otherwise a long way to go
Where is it:
Choice Bar and Restaurant, Castle Quay, Manchester, M15 4NT
Choice Bar and restaurant is on Castle Quay in the Castlefield area of Manchester. When you approach it from the road it does not look like a restaurant at all, there is a small free car park as you turn left off the road. Once you have parked your car you then walk down towards the canal and the restaurant is on your right. It looks onto the Castle Quay and has a large area ... ...la carte menu. A Smart Choice menu is available all day and all night Monday to Thursday and from 12PM to 6 PM Friday to Sunday. This menu offers 2 courses for £13.95 or 3 courses for £16.95 with a choice of 3 or 4 dishes for each course. An example of this menu can be seen here: http://www.choicebarandrestaurant.co.uk/menu/choicemenusmart.pdf
The a la carte menu has a bigger choice, eight dishes as starters, ten main course choices and seven ...

Akbars manchester - Yeuch Bar - none
Advantages: Giant Naans Disadvantages: Poor service, only average food, expensive, long wait, busy
We went to this restaurant for our office party.
It was recomended and so we were looking forward to it.
The restaurant is opposite the Museums and is easy to find. It was very busy and and although we had booked there was quite a wait for a table.
When we finaly got seated they took our orders quickly. However that was the last decent service we got. here were about 12 of us, but Every single course served they managed to miss out one or more ... ...turned up after we had nearly all finished). I am not kidding on this, they even managed to mess up the Coffees!
The starters were Ok but the quality of the main courses left a lot to be desired. one persons meal was extremely salty, somebody else ordered a what was supposed to be a hot curry, but blatently wasnt. My Main was ok but fairly bland (not what I expected based upon the menu description) and Onions, which are usually a staple of most ...

Blue tiffin - Higginshaw lane - Mmmm nice
Advantages: Food, Food, Food, Service, Cleanliness Disadvantages: On the expensive side
The location of the Blue Tiffin (on a trading park on Higginshaw lane in Oldham) doesnt suggest that it is going to be anyting special, but dont let this fool you.
This has got to be one of the Best Indian Restaurants that I have ever been to. The food is beautifully cooked, very well presented, and most importantly tastes fantastic.
The service is really good and efficient, and so far they have been 100% accurate with our orders.
If you tell ... ...The menu is very varied and I havent had anything there yet that I didnt like.
I can recommend the Ameri Murgh, Blue Tiffin Thawa and Kum hara piaz!
Just writing this makes me want to go back. I think Ill book for next week - Yum! ...

Fantastic food in retro setting
Advantages: Family-owned, unique flavours, big on atmosphere Disadvantages: A little shabby, not one to take the kids to
Location
The Armenian Taverna is slap bang in the middle of Manchester city centre. Albert Square, opposite the Town Hall. The red blackboard outside leads the way into a basement eaterie where time has stood still. History
For over 30 years this family-owned restaurant has been delighting people in search of affordable food which is deliciously spicy ( witohut being too hot) and unique in atmosphere. A favourite of media folk and creative types, ... ...Food Armenian food is an interesting hybrid. Much is reminiscent of other Middle Eastern cuisines found in Turkey, Cyprus and Greece. Now familiar ( once exotic) items like their versions of hummus and taramasalata feature in the starter menu and the main courses are dominated by sizzling lamb and chicken kebabs served with flatbread made on the premises. But there are also fragrant tagines ( stews) combining fruit, veg and meats served with couscous, ...

I Giffin to Griffin Temptation
Advantages: Great choice, great value Disadvantages: Couldn't eat that much every day
The team I work with is quite a small one and even with all of us there at the same time we only add up to 8 people. Since we all travel a lot it's relatively rare that more than 3 or 4 of us are actually in the office at the same time. A couple of weeks back it looked like it might just be me and Naz, our Turkish placement student in for the day. So I said 'OK, let's go out for lunch and to hell with who answers the phones'. It was the recent Friday ... ...going to get stuck on the M6 going home, I might as well make sure I had a good meal inside me before I set off. Then as the day rolled on, a couple more colleagues showed up unexpectedly and we decided to make it an ad-hoc team lunch. Our department secretary, Joyce, had lined up the group to go for lunch earlier in the week for her birthday but had gone down with something nasty and called in sick. She's our time-limiting factor as she always needs ...
