I have lived near Manchester for nearly fifteen years and i think it is a great city. It is situated in a part of the United Kingdom that receives a lot of rain and dull weather, but don't let that put you off. The city plays host to two Premier League football teams, Manchester City and Manchester United who won the treble a few seasons ago which included the European Champions League. Staying on the sporting side of things, Manchester is the home of Lancashire County Cricket Club, or at least Old Trafford is. Lancashire were the one-day team of the 90's and are currently very involved in the race for this years County Championship.
On the shopping side of things, Manchester has the Trafford Centre which is an immense shopping complex with lots of shops and it also has a whole arena of restaurants as well. Overall, then Manchester is a pretty good city.
