If you have never been to Manchester, then you really should come. It’s a great City, with bright lights, excellent shops, brilliant restaurants, and some top universities.
It has a really good ‘Arndale Centre’, which was re-built after the bombing. It looks really good, and has some ace shops, you can buy your quality designer wear and also pick up a bargain. A place where you can do all your shopping, such is the variety available.
It has excellent transport services available, you can catch a bus from Chorlton Street or Piccadilly Station, or you can catch a train. No short of public transport here. It is better to go by bus, to Manchester, as it can get hectic if your driving along the busy roads.
You can get some real good discounts if you’re a student or use the stagecoach buses a lot.
Great place to eat out in, on Wilmslow Road or just down your China town, where you can find exotic foods at reasonable prices. There are a great variety of different cultures in Manchester, which is reflected in the different restaurants.
They have the universities (University of Manchester, Manchester Metropolitan, UMIST, Salford University) and therefore this city is ideal for students. There is loads of live entertainment, with bands frequently performing at the Manchester Evening News arena.
Also check out the Palace Theatre, where they have some great performances. Again, at reasonable priced.
You can visit Granada Studios, which is a good day out. They have some good rides, and can go on a guided tours around the famous ‘Coronation Street’. If you’re a football fan then you can go down to Maine Road or Old Trafford on Match days.
A great day out, with lots of things to do. Definitely worth coming down if you haven’t been before

Advantages: Great allrounder- There is something for everybody but without being too big Disadvantages: Getting very expensive to live in the city centre
