I have been to Mango Bay twice and will be going again in February 08. It is an all inclusive resort, takes about 40 minutes to get there from the airport. It has lush tropical gardens and I was very impressed with the place, the rooms were spotless, the maids came and turned the bed down every evening and left a little chocolate on the pillow.

The bathroom had complimentary shampoo, conditioner and soap. as well as a hairdryer. There is a free safe in the room. The food is fabulous, the menu changes every day, sometimes it was buffet, help yourself food and others it was a la carte. Strict dress code for meals in the restaurant, which is outdoors and right next to the sea, although there is an inside seating area. They top your glass up with wine as soon as it starts to get low, they do a fabulous range of cocktails, non alcoholic if you want. in fact we found that whatever we asked for, we got it, there was never any problem. My fave was called a Mudslide ! The rum punch was pretty lethal, take care.

A small downside to the place is that people put towels out on the sunbeds every morning very early, even though there are signs saying not to. So if you liked to have a lie in, then you could miss out on a speck by the pool, not a problem really because the beach was right there. I think this towels on the sunbed early thing happens everywhere to be honest.

The place was recently renovated, the rooms are light and airy with great air con, nice balcony, we were put in a condo, which was amazing, it was bigger than the hotel rooms, it was near to the street at the back of the hotel and I know some people have been bothered by the noise from the local bars, but we didnt even notice the noise, we slept as soon as our heads hit the pillow.

The staff are all very helpful and friendly, while we were there the sea was unusually rough, a large wave came and hit my husband and daughter when they were on the beach and swept the room keys out to sea, we thought we would be charged a large bill for losing the room keys but there was no problem at all, they didnt charge us anything, just got new keys for us.

You can ask the staff to arrange anything for you, there are trips to swim with the turtles, glass bottom boat, .some watersports etc which were free. There is some evening entertainment which is okay, nothing spectacular. The whole setting of Mango Bay is magical, pure white beach, lush tropical gardens, the waves lapping, it is a slice of paradise. We have decided that it is our favourite place, and we have stayed at quite a few hotels on the island, this is the best quality everything. I dont think this hotel would appeal to any young party animals, although there was plenty of partying at the bars nearby at night.

You can get flights to Barbados for various prices, we flew there with Excel Airways for £450 each, shop around there are plenty of deals out there. The Mango Bay prices start at £227 for a standard room per night, which may seem pricey but all your food and drink is included in the price, useful if you have kids who want endless drinks and treats. I would advise you to definietly shop around the cheap deal websites and you may get a bargain.

Sounds lovely being so near to the beach. Is it expensive to stay at though? There's no price indication in your review. Lexy
