Manor House Boutique Hotel, Darlinghurst

...Tankersley Manor is a place that I have been to a few times over the years and it was also the location of my work's Christmas Party at the end of last year. It is a well known Hotel and Restaurant with a good local reputation. THE BACKGROUND From the outside Tankersley Manor is quite impressive to say the least, standing in its own well maintained Gardens and Grounds and surrounded by Woodland the building itself is a rather imposing Stone built building. The Hotel as you see it today has been extensively restored but it has been built around a 17th Century Manor House that once occupied the location. THE FACILITIES Tankersley Manor has a Restaurant, a Health Club and 70 rooms all with en suite facilities. Advantages: Luxurious hotel!
Disadvantages: You have to provide a £50 deposit on your credit card upon arrival.

...pricey but well worth it and a bit more distinctive than chain boutique hotels, although there is a sister hotel: Didsbury House.... Read review

Advantages: Top Class Hotel, Great Food

...The Crab Manor Hotel is indeed a 1st class hotel, in Asenby near York It is small compared to most hotels but the attention to detail in the fabulous rooms is just amazing. Its an 18th C Goergan Manor House that has been converted into themed rooms. Including Le Touessrock, Bird Island, Bora Bora, Raffles and many more. We stayed in Bird Island which is not in the main house but in the grounds as an annex. The room its self was fabulous, with a huge bed, nothing had been spared in the high class decoration and dark wood furniture, with loads of artifacts from the Seychelles and the room is very very large with plenty of space, it even had its own sauna and a shared jacuzzi ( we did not find out it was shared until we got there and the folks in the room next door stayed in it all night, we never got a chance to use it!!!)
