international organisations, a few steps from the town centre and business districts, the Edelweiss Hotel radiates the charm of a genuine Swiss chalet. This shines through its light-coloured-painted and finely crafted wood, cosy armchairs around the fireplace and radiant welcome given by the personnel in traditional costumes. The Edelweiss Hotel immediately confirms its reputation as an exceptional highlight of any journey. Its 42 rooms offer a subtile blend of elegance, modern comfort and a typical Alpine decor with rustic mountain furniture. The restaurant provides typical Swiss food, like fondue and raclette, at the sound of alphorn and yodel. Guaranteed enchantment and a sense of getting away from it all. Air conditoning in all rooms.
Advantages: Lots to do, nice atmosphere Disadvantages: Hotels are rather expensive
...My husband & I visited Geneva last month & loved it. It's just such a big city with so much to do. We went to the Reformation museum & Red Cross museum, but there are also art museums, a watch museum and others. Cathedral is worth a visit- we went to a concert in it which was a great experience. Also visited some sights to do with Jean Calvin the Christian reformer - such as the Reformation Wall. Went on a cruise on Lake Geneva which was lovely. Make sure you take a swimming cossie too cos at "Geneve Plage" there are outdoor pools and a section of the lake that you can swim in if you want. The tram is a good way to get around the city. A little further out are the alps which you can visit by coach.
Hotels & restaurants can tend to be a bit pricey, but we stayed in "Hotel Central" which is reasonably priced and a nice hotel.

Advantages: Quickest way in to Geneva; very good, as should be expected of a Swiss airport Disadvantages: None that I can think of
...As with most Swiss transport infrastructure public buildings, Geneva Airport is very good, if not excellent, at what you want it to be - clean, efficiently laid-out, and pleasingly designed. Although small (when compared to Heathrow or Denver, for example), it is perfectly suited for serving the city, with good rail and bus links into Geneva.
Check-in can be just a little slow - you might even have to queue for more than five minutes (!) - but this is not really a difficulty. The tax-free shopping is not the best in the world, but for such a small airport, it is certainly good enough. The best thing about Geneva Airport is the view on landing - richly forrested rocky hillsides sweep below the plane as it comes into land, seemingly just below the wing-tips.
All in all, Geneva is my favourite European airport, outside of Heathrow....

Advantages: Near France and Italy. Beautiful scenery. Disadvantages: Similar prices to UK
...Introduction ~~~~~~~~
Geneva is located in the south-west part of Switzerland is very near to France. In fact part of Geneva airport is in France.
If going on holiday to you means "cheap stuff" then Geneva and Switzerland in general for that matter is not your ideal holiday. Switzerland shares rip-off Britain prices and many things are more expensive there. The only thing that is cheaper there is petrol and fags.
Scenery ~~~~~~~~~~
The scenery in Geneva is beautiful near the lake. From the lake you can see into the Alps and see the famous Lake Geneva fountain. At night Geneva is stunning, the fountain is lit up and all the posh offices have fancy lights. (Like the ones Harrods has) On top of all that you are only a 20 minute drive to the Alps where there is more breathtaking scenery.
