Maplewood backpackers is situated in ilfracombe on the north devon coast.A warm welcome awaits you in this informal hostel situated a few yards from the high street and the sea.
Advantages: Great views, lovely (and very clean) building, excellent hosts, close to town centre Disadvantages: None
The North Devon coast is, for me, one of the most fantastic places in the UK. There are lots of activities to do in the area including surfing, hiking, cycling, horse-riding, scuba diving, wildlife-watching, fishing, and exploring.
My wife and I have just enjoyed a stay at the Towers Hotel in Ilfracombe, which is an ideal location for visiting north Devon. The hotel is a spectacular Victorian-style building with the slightly-over-the-top architecture which could only work in a building of this era.
The interior is kept in-style with the overall building and is exceptionally clean and tidy. Even the Victorian features such as the high ceilings, covings and high skirting boards were in clean, good condition which must take a lot of work by the owners.
There is ample car-parking for all guests, and also a small bar and lounge area ...
Advantages: none, apart from politeness of the staff Disadvantages: I cannot really comment on specific criteria as I have not stayed there
Arlington Hotel, Ilfracombe Devon. I am afraid I have had quite a poor experience dealing with this hotel. Booked a room with a sea view months in advance with an online booking agent.
Received confirmation and map through the post pretty quickly from the hotel.
On day of arrival found that hotel car park was full and could only see double yellow lines on narrow adjacent roads, there was no sign on the first car park to indicate that the hotel had an overflow car park which was also almost full except for two spaces with tight access (had to go into hotel reception to be told about the second car park). Parked the car and went to book in, only to find out that they had made an error, had been put in a room with no sea view.
The receptionist was polite and said the hotel would allow our dog to stay for free, but obviously ...
Advantages: educational, simple to play, enagaging storyline Disadvantages: makes kids want more lol
If you have young children, you most likely know who Dora the Explorer is and all about her talking backpack. This game is on a DVD format, so your child will need a DVD drive on the computer they play it on. This means, if like us, you tarted up a Freecycled PC so your child can leave YOUR PC alone, you will need to fork out a few quid for a DVD player for it.
This game is a natural extension of the TV series it is spun off from. The TV series has a computer game feel, with the "mouse cursor" that appears on the screen after Dora asks your child a question, so this game is like suddenly actually being IN the show for your child. Like the series, your child will go on a walk (in this to the library) with Dora and her backpack, and along the way, meets up with Boots, Benny the bull, Tico the squirrel, and others. They solve puzzles ...
