Mar Hotel Alimuri, Sorrento

Advantages: Friendly staff and atmosphere, Clean and well managed, lovely food
Disadvantages: could maybe have more evening entertainment at the bar

...the side of the hotel, but we didnt hear too much from the road, which was good. The pool was clean and well kept. We didnt have an issue with the 5 euro charge as you were provided with a towel which was changed if it got wet, and it also prevented, sunbed hogging, which was very good. Again the staff were very friendly and there was always a life guardaround the pool. Overall i would reccomend this hotel as a great destination for if staying in Sorrento. It is 1/2 mile from the main strip which is good, as you feel in the town, but not too noisy. Excellent, and will be booking again next year... Read review

...Sorrento was one of the most beautiful places i have ever visited in my life. My family and I decided to go to the south of Italy for pure pleasure and to enjoy the civillians of Sorrento's loving and welcoming nature. The hotel we picked was spot on - not in a busy, touristy packed resort but in a place where we could relax a bit and enjoy the scenery of the beautiful town of Sorrento. It also isn't long walk from the town centre depending on how much you like to walk! This Hilton hotel was one of the last places we picked to have a look at (probably because Paris Hilton came into our minds!), but we booked it in the end because of the quality of the hotel based on reviews. Advantages: In a nice resort, quietish area, basic but clean and comfortable.

...Our family group of 7, myself, my husband, our son (aged 8), my parents, sister and niece (aged 10) booked between us three rooms for two weeks at the 3 star Hotel Clumba Mar in Ca'n Picafort, in the North East of Majorca for the last two weeks of June 06. We chose this hotel because we liked the description of both the hotel and the resort in the Thompson's Sky Tours brochure as being quiet and family friendly as we were looking for a relaxing break and hoping to avoid being kept awake by local nightlife.
