I would suggest that if you need a quick dash to somewhere hot then you could do far worse than Marbella Hotel Corfu. Marbella proudly displays five stars at the end of the drive way, and whilst the rooms and facilities are good I would suggest five stars is a little generous. It is really the rooms which let the place down as they are similar in feel to a good Travel Lodge albeit with air conditioning. We opted for half board which seemed to work out well as there is plenty of food for all tastes - it's buffet style so a large serving area displays the dishes, and guests help themselves to whatever they want. There are lots to choose from, and I'm pleased to say that all of it is good. If you worry about noise at night from clubs / drunk folk having a laugh, then you don't need to worry about it here as the place is very tranquil at night, the hotel is a complex more or less by itself - the nearest town is Benitses which is around 3/4 hour walk or 10min bus ride. The nearest ATM is in this town. As for other facilities at the hotel the 2 pools are great and 4mins walk down the hill the hotel has also made an artificial 'beach' which is a great area to relax and swim in the sea. There is also a gym, table-tennis, basketball court / mini football pitch and two tennis courts all included. Children also seemed to be well taken care of as the entertainment crew always made sure that something was going on. A great way of exploring the island is to hire a scooter or a quad bike, this is great fun and two hire places are near the hotel. This will also let you find some of the amazing beaches dotted around, most of the sandy ones are on the opposite side of the island. Corfu town is also worth a visit and is about 25mins by car and bus or 3/4hour by quad bike. For a 10 day last minute deal we got flights, superior double room with garden view and half board accommodation for £600 each which I think represented good value. All in all a great place to relax or to use as a base for exploring the island. The rooms are functioning rather than amazing but the rest of the hotel compensates for this nicely.

Thanks for suggestion, but if I should consider goin there, I would wanna know 1) price, 2) what do surroundings look like - how far is it to city, shops, beach, ATM, post office etc. Noise level around the hotel at night, what other facilities the hotel provides, if any? If you update, let me know. Radka
