Fuerte Miramar Spa Hotel
Review of Fuerte Miramar Spa, Marbella by
ahills
Advantages: Perfect location, very clean & comfortable, friendly staff
Disadvantages: Beach
This hotel is in a perfect location for those looking to go on holiday to Marbella. Backing onto the beach, with sunloungers and parasols provided for free, you can get superb views from your room. We had a side-side view room which gave amazing views looking down the coastline from the balcony. It was larger in size than we were expecting and the bathroom had that wow-factor. No worries about sleeping in the hot nights as the rooms are air conditioned ... ...open the doors onto the balcony, the air con automatically switches off to save energy.
The first thing you notice about this hotel is how clean and roomy it is. The room maids did a fantastic job of cleaning the room every day and always gave a friendly smile and "hola!" in the corridors. Security is good, with electronic cards needed to travel upwards in the lifts and to gain access from the promenade at the back of the hotel into the pool area. ...

Live like Sultans in the Mary Celeste!
Review of Sultan Club, Marbella by
jo145
Advantages: Very comfortable base.
Disadvantages: Too quiet and facilities not available.
Just a short walk from the beach and the famous "Golden Mile" in Marbella, this apartment hotel which opened in 1997 is on a road called Avenida Arturo Rubenstein. Luxurious apartment blocks line the road, and within a short distance are two very upmarket supermarkets if you want to buy food and drink!
Designed to make you feel you are living in the luxury that the sultans enjoyed in years gone by, there are fountains and tropical plants, beautiful ... ...which are one or two bed roomed with a large comfortable lounge with dining area and large balconies with furniture. There is daily maid service with frequent bed linen change and daily change of towels.
One bedroom apartment
********************
A kitchen larger than my own at home, and with a door which opened onto a small enclosed balcony for drying washing (although we only stayed in apartments at the end of the corridor, so internal ones ...

Great Little Hotel
Review of La Villa Marbella, Marbella by
cookeec1
Advantages: Excellent service, attention to detail, impressive value for money
Disadvantages: Not suited for lively people
La Villa Marbella is located in the beautiful Old Town of Marbella. The hotel is very charming and the friendliness of the service personal is exceptional.
The rooms are very nice furnished and well equipped. The room rates are quite expensive though. You pay for at least 4* stars without having a pool, wellness area, etc.. If you are
aware of that and can live without those amenities, La Villa Marbella
is for sure a beautiful place to stay.
... ...favorite part of Marbella was la villa marbella. Marcos, the gentleman that runs the hotel , and his staff were unbeleivably helpful and took great customer service to a whole new level.
There is a great little terrace upstairs for afternoon drinks, free access to a computer, and basically just taking it easy. The room & the Inn was immaculate with updated state of the art bathroom fixtures & lighting.
The rooms were lovely - simply decorated but ...

Lovely holiday in Calahonda
Review of Club Marbella, Marbella by
starjen
Advantages: Great complex, excellent facilities, clean, great location
Disadvantages: No shallow end to pool, hilly area and complex
...from a weeks stay at Club Marbella in Calahonda. Calahonda is a town in between Malaga and Marbella, about a 30 minute drive from Malaga airport.
I went on this holiday with my boyfriend, Mum and her partner. They stay at this resort as part of a timeshare but you are also able to book to go on holiday here independently.
We arrived late afternoon and parked in the large car park over the road. We went over to the small reception area and didn't ... ...to choose which room we wanted to stay in, which I thought was good although perhaps wouldn't be an option in peak season.
The room we choose was on the 3rd floor and you had to go either down a long slope or steps and then back up three flights of steps to the room, this isn't somewhere I'd recommend for people with walking difficulties or in a wheelchair.
The room was a two bedroom apartment with two bathrooms, a lounge area and kitchen. The ...

Vacation Club - fractional fun in the sun
Review of Marriott's Playa Andaluza Vacation Ownership Resort by
andyk910
Advantages: More comfortable than a hotel room - good with kids
Disadvantages: Not your apartment - can't leave anything there - do you want to keep going back?
Introduction
**************
Spain's Costa del Sol has been a sunshine playground for getting on 50 years and is still one of the best loved places for sun, sea and sand in mainland Europe. Coming from a series of fishing villages, the coastal towns developed wildly and some would say too much, and a correction in the last 10 or so years has seen efforts to demolish some of the overcrowded 2-star type accommodation in favour of lower density but ... ...the short stay visitor and the villas and apartments for the longer stay guest, there is a demand for a cross between the two, and this demand is the reason for the Marriott Playa Andaluza, a Marriott Vacation Club property. Whisper it quietly (the words are not welcome) but there are elements of timeshare here. You can buy the right to use one of the apartments for a week or more, and you can swap the time you have there for equivalent time at other ...
