(+) Beautiful beach hotel in the most buzzing area of Dubai! (-) There is still construction surrounding the hotel, but everywhere has to start somewhere.
The Marco Polo Hotel Is a modern property designed with a striking glass exterior. It is a great standard of hotel with a good central location with plenty of shopping malls close by. All guest rooms have recently been refurbished to ahigh standard and are decorated in rich red, gold and brown tones. Rooms are traditional in style, comfortable and with good amenities such as mini-bar, safe, hair dryer and have a newspaper delivered daily. The hotel has a choice ofbars and restaurants for guests including International, Indian and Tex-Mex. Highly recommended.
Advantages: Dubai is a safe place with very good quality of life. There is universal brotherhood everywhere. Disadvantages: None for me, but the hot weather for tourists who are not used to this.
.... German and US citizens can obtain visit visas from the UAE Embassies of their respective countries. Israelis and travellers whose passports bear Israeli stamps are barred from entering UAE.

Advantages: Superb Location, Beautiful Hotel Disadvantages: Being Pestered By Hawkers Outside
...The MarcoPolo Hong Kong has a definite Wow factor, one of three MarcoPolo hotels incorporated in Harbour City the largest shopping centre in Hong Kong. The hotel foyer is shared with the entrance to the Armani shop and all around is top level designer brand names.
Check In
When we checked into the hotel we were told that our room was not ready for us. We were very politely asked if we would mind waiting in the lobby bar and given two complimentary drinks to compensate. Normally I am very easy going and patient and would not object to this but after a 20 hour journey to get to HK I was little disgruntled. The lobby lounge has a retro theme and is quite formal. After around 35 minutes no one had come to get us so my husband went to ask at the desk, apologies were made and we were finally able to go to our room.

Advantages: Location and price Disadvantages: Location, can be a bit hectic out the front
...Another year another Christmas, this year we decided to go to Hong Kong for our time off a bit different to the normal. We ended up booking the flights and hotels through British Airways holidays, the hotel we chose was the MarcoPolo Hong Kong in Kowloon.
++++++++++Booking++++++++++
I booked our stay through British Airways Holidays www.baholidays.com the whole stay was paid upfront, which is useful as there a multitude of taxes and service charges that get added to the room rate. I managed to get the hotel for a rate of £66 per night for the 5 days we were staying in Hong Kong, I thought this was very good considering we were staying over Christmas Day..
The hotel is part of a chain of hotels which operate in Asia predominantly China you can make a booking through their website www.marcopolohotels.com, as with all hotels I...

A lot can happen in a space of a few years but never more so than in Dubai; it's currently a massive construction site but in the nicest sort of way! The last time I visited Dubai in 2002, I stayed at Oasis Beach Hotel in Jumeirah. At that time the... more
