Advantages: Lovely Salcombe location Disadvantages: Could be a little cleaner in pool area
size and I would certainly opt for an estuary view room as they are bigger and have a lovely outside patio area looking over the water with all the little boats going up and down the river.
Food is superb and I would recommend the dinner B&B option as the quality is excellent and very romantic, the style is marine in nature and the staff are attentive and helpful.
The hotel opens out to the shore and there is a large sun bathing area for residents, there are however a number of steps to manage and would present problems to those with limited mobility so use the lift provided.
There is private free parking which is huge bonus in Salcombe which can get pretty crowded in mid summer.
The hotel is classy and relaxing without being too formal and the area around the resort is simply breathtaking in beauty.

We booked last minute which was a simple process of a phone call.
We chose the hotel based on its location in the main, but from the website it seemed to have everything we wanted; tennis, swimming pool, pitch and put, sauna, and more.
My only reservation was the price; it was around £1,100 for four nights, dinner and B&B for two in a standard room.
When we got there we the view didn?t disappoint. The hotel is just ten minutes from a secluded cove and all in gorgeous National Trust grounds. A warning though, if you?re not that fit then it would be a struggle to get up and down to the beach with everything you need each day.
There were also nice walks around the area and some lovely towns within driving distance.
Another particularly nice aspect of the hotel was the tennis court. I was surprised it was a grass court but ...
