Mariner's Club, Key Largo

Advantages: great if you don't mind being off the strip.
Disadvantages: not many people know of it !!!

...on the strip, but we did'nt get the same level of service that we did at the key largo. lovely place, cannot fault it . we stayed here at the start of our round the world trip and liked it so much we returned about 6 weeks later. i cant recall exactly how much it cost for us to stay here, but it was really great value.... Advantages: Cheap, friendly and fun

...hot Cardiff airport and found ourselves two short hours later in rainsoaked Mallorca. After waiting around for over an hour for our bags and then for a further hour and a half while they finally sorted out who was supposed to be on which coach, we sped through the torrents for an hour and finally arrived at the Mariner Club apartments at midnight, and joined a queue of disgruntled holidaymakers to check in. Luckily the staff were efficient and friendly and it didn't take us too long to recieve our key and directions to our room which was just above the clean, bright, marble foyer, up a short flight of stairs. We quickly dragged our cases and son up to the room, burst inside - and I nearly burst into tears. Our accomodation was the smallest I have ever been in, with two wooden framed sofa beds either side of the room and a pull out... Read review

Advantages: Laid-back and leisurely

...on stilts with parking for cars underneath, it certainly wasn’t the Ritz, but it was clean with TV, telephone, two double beds, toilet and shower, and all for $45. No meals, so we visited “Susies” for a bite - talking of bites, the ‘mossies’ were in aggressive mood and we left the following morning minus what seemed like a pint of blood! Heading for Miami, we picked up the Florida Turnpike on to Route One, then motored south through Key Largo, Marathon, Sugar Loaf Key and on to our ultimate destination Key West. The weather had not been kind and the latter part of the trip was stormy with heavy rain. It seemed strange driving over the bridges linking the islands, with the Atlantic on one side and the Gulf of Mexico on the other. What a feat of engineering to construct a bridge seven miles long between the islands... Read review
