Maripins Hotel, Malgrat de Mar

Advantages: great for walks and very friendly.....
Disadvantages: getting used ot the coastal railway, very close to it...

..., its quieter than Malgrat, but its more of a place where you book your hotel and go to the beach, the shops are very limited, however you do have market stalls at night and the resort is closer to Burger King! Lol. If you wish to go, you can book a hotel and book a flight to Barcelona. If you fly to Barcelona, you can catch the train to Malgrat, however you have to switch once, we changed at Badalona ( not a resort, it's a Spanish town, pretty cool, stayed there once with aunty, too Spanish though lol). The train takes around an hour to get to Malgrat but its nice as you get to see the other resorts, but beware, close your eyes! Lol??. There's a few nudist beach's along the way??. Overall, I really enjoyed Malgrat de mar, there's plenty to do, and in two weeks you would of seen everything, done everything, oh and did I mention, there... Read review

...We stayed here for 6 nights in Febuary of this year (2008) and found it to be very good value for money, and the weather was surprisingly good which was an added bonus. It was a last minute cheap gettaway I had already booked the flights with Ryanair and not decided where we were going to stay exactly, and then we decided to try lloret. We chose The Royal Beach because it was very resonably priced (£208 for 6 nights all - inclusive for two people) and it had fairly good reviews. One mistake I did make though was I had booked the hotel and flights seperate and didn't bother with transfers we just got a taxi from Girona airport to resort, this was easy enough to do but cost 50 euros each way. I found out when we got home I could have booked a transfer both ways for about £25 so could have saved quite a bit of money there... Read review

Advantages: Able to get it last minute, nice surrounding area
Disadvantages: Food, Staff, Price, Other guests, the room....... everything else

...It was pure chance that we stayed at the Paradis Park Hotel in Pineda De Mar. Whilst looking for a cheap and cheerful last minute deal to get some sun I spotted a package to the Calella Palace Hotel through Teletext holidays online. After a bit of research the decision was made to book it, however, the dates we wanted weren't available. We were offered an allocation on arrival for the same price, or for an extra £45 each we could have an alternative named hotel of the same rating. Being unadventurous I opted for the latter and was given the choice of the Alexis Hotel (I had previously read reviews all of which were bad) and the Paradis Park Hotel.
